Nothing 4a Pro

Summary
The Nothing 4a Pro combines premium design, a bright AMOLED display, and clean software. It delivers reliable performance, strong battery life, and a unique Glyph experience in the UAE.
Introduction
I hope you have seen the Nothing 4a review I posted earlier. The Nothing 4a is a budget-friendly smartphone with great features. And in this review, we will be talking about the more premium version of the Nothing 4a series – the Nothing 4a Pro smartphone.
The journey of the Nothing has always been about breaking the predictable smartphone formula. Transparent design, Glyph lighting, and a clean UI made the brand stand out instantly.
From the early days of the Phone (1) to the refined A-series, Nothing has focused on delivering style + simplicity rather than chasing raw specs.
With the Nothing 4a series, the company shifts slightly towards maturity. The regular 4a offers value, while the Pro variant pushes closer to flagship territory.
Now comes the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro — a device that blends premium design, a powerful mid-range chipset, and a reimagined Glyph experience. But does it truly justify the “Pro” tag? Let’s dive deep.
Package – Nothing 4a Pro

The Nothing 4a Pro comes in a black brand-styled box that includes the phone, a Type-C charging cable, a phone case, a SIM tray ejector tool, safety information, and a warranty card.
Design & Specifications

Nothing continues its iconic transparent design philosophy, and the Phone (4a) Pro feels instantly recognizable. The phone measures 163.6 mm (H) x 76.6 mm (W) x 7.9 mm (D) and weighs 210 grams. It comes with a matte-black Unibody aluminum frame and a front 6.83-inch LTPS flexible AMOLED display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. The display has a peak brightness of 5000 nits. It has an adaptive 144Hz refresh rate. And the back panel comes with an upgraded Glyph Matrix (137 advanced mini-LEDs). The horizontal rectangle camera panel juts out of the body, which has the triple cameras 50 MP Sony OIS main -1/1.56”. 50 MP OIS (Tetraprism) periscope – 1/2.75”, Up to 140x ultra zoom 8 MP ultra-wide – 1/4”]. The cameras come with OIS & EIS, 140x Ultra Zoom. The Front (Selfie) camera is the front camera comes with 32 MP front – 1/3.44”. And has 89˚FoV.
The phone has the Volume rockers and power button on the right side, and on the left side, there is a button which functions for “Essential”. The top side is clean with the mic and speaker, and on the bottom side, you have the SIM card Tray, USB Type-C port, and Speaker Grill. This display has a fingerprint sensor, and the front camera is embedded in the screen.
As for the details, the phone comes with a 5080 mAh battery, the largest on the Nothing Phone. The phone supports 50Watt fast charging. The phone has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset with Nothing 4.1 OS on Android 16. It comes with 12GB RAM, a 2GB boost, which can be increased in the settings, and 256GB (ROM) Storage.
Performance – Nothing 4a Pro
Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor. 2GB RAM + 2GB additional GPU RAM and there is an option to increase from the settings.
And it comes with 256GB storage. Performance is stable, efficient, and tuned for daily usage rather than extreme gaming.
Experience – Nothing 4a Pro

As mentioned earlier in my introduction, the Nothing 4a Pro features premium styling and a uni-body Aluminum body, which will appeal to a mature audience. I think the Nothing phone is the only smartphone which has the Glyph matrix.
As for the design, as I have mentioned, the Nothing 4a Pro stands out among the competitors’ smartphones. The aluminum back panel, the jutting, rectangular, rounded-edged camera panel, stands beautifully alongside the triple-camera system and matrix Glyph. The round Glyph consists of 137 advanced mini-LEDs in 7 squares and is up to 57% brighter than the previous version, Nothing Phone (3).

The AMOLED display provides peak brightness up to 5000 nits with a 144Hz refresh rate. The phone supports HDR10+. This is one of the brightest displays in its segment, ideal for outdoor use in the UAE.
The company mentions that the display is protected by Gorilla 7i, which provides protection against scrapes and drops. But I don’t know why I had the same issue with the screen, since this review phone also had scratches. So I am not sure about the protection.
Compared to the Nothing 4a, the Nothing 4a Pro is slightly slimmer and slightly heavier, thanks to its aluminum unibody. It comes with IP65 certification for dust and water resistance and can withstand submersion in up to 25cm of water for up to 20 minutes.
Consumers liking the iPhone Titanium phone may appreciate this phone’s styling at a lower price and a clean OS and camera.
Nothing 4a Pro – Cameras
The Nothing 4a Pro cameras are similar to the Nothing 4a but support 140x Ultra Zoom. This is possible with a better camera lens and sensor.
Nothing Main cameras

The main camera features a triple-camera system. The camera consists of a Phone (4a) Pro, which packs a 50 MP resolution with an aperture of f/1.88 and a sensor 1/1.56″ and features OIS & EIS. It supports Auto focus, 2×2 OCL PDAF. It has 2x in-sensor zoom, Rapid shutter, and Image Super Resolution (ISR) algorithm. The second camera is a Periscope camera with 50 MP resolution, an aperture of f/2.88, and a sensor of 1/2.75”. It features OIS & EIS and supports Auto focus, PDAF. It supports 3.5x optical zoom, 7x in-sensor zoom and 140x ultra zoom. The third camera is an Ultra-wide camera with an aperture of F/2.2 and a sensor of 1/4″ with a 120° FoV.
During the daylight shots, the camera performed excellently, delivering vibrant colours and perfectly sharp images. With the AI function, the phone would further colour-correct and adjust colour saturation. Even while clicking flowers against the bright sky, the flower stood out with the AI correction.
During low-light testing, the camera system performed well, especially with the AI-enhanced feature. While clicking a skyline shot at night, the camera took about 1-3 seconds to adjust before snapping the image, but it was corrected with AI to reduce the noise. The quality of the image is nice, but you can see the correction, especially when you take digital zoom shots
The 140x digital zoom is nice, but the image on the screen was grainy when the image was clicked; the AI enhanced it, trying to correct it with noise reduction and image correction. But some of the images failed. Personally, I am not in favour of digital zoom like 140x photography, as the output was not great.
Front Camera (Selfie)

The Nothing 4a Front camera comes with 32 MP Resolution, Aperture F/2.2 Sensor, 1/3.44″ and 89° FoV. The selfies clicked with the camera were excellent. It worked perfectly during the daylight and low-light photography. During low-light selfie time, the bright screen would be used as a light source to capture the images.
Battery Life
The Nothing 4a Pro smartphone comes with a 5080 mAh battery. The phone supports 50Watt wired fast charging. It is the same as the Nothing 4a Pro. This is the 1st Nothing series of smartphones in 2026 with a large battery. Based on our testing, the battery performed excellently. I used the phone to watch videos, listen to music, and scroll. The battery lasted more than 1.5 days.
Software & Connectivity Experience

The Nothing 4a Pro comes with Android 16 with Nothing OS 4.1. It is a clean UI with minimal bloatware and comes with smart widgets and AI-based features. The UI feels smooth, distraction-free, and optimised for productivity. The phone worked smoothly, and scrolling and app switching were smooth. The phone performed reliably for daily use and multitasking, and mobile gaming is decent but not flagship-level.
The phone has a dual SIM card with e-SIM support. It has 5G, Bluetooth 5.4 and NFC. Of course, it supports OTG via USB Type-C Port.
Matrix Glyph Experience

The Glyph lighting system is no longer just a gimmick. It provides Notification alerts, charging indicators, and custom light patterns. It adds personality to the device—something no other brand offers at this price.
When you place the phone face down, you can see the Matrix Glyph light indicating the Calls & notifications, Charging progress indicator, Timer/countdown visuals and Music visualization. The Glyph Interface in 2026 is no longer just about aesthetics. Nothing is trying to turn it into a functional ambient interface—something that reduces screen dependency.

There is an interesting option for selfie photography with the main camera called Glyph Mirror. When you switch on this option from the camera option. You will be able to see yourself on a dot-matrix screen, which is not very clear, but it helps you position yourself in front of the camera. The image output is from the main camera’s higher resolution. Compared to the Nothing 4a, the matrix Glyph has more value and features.
Essential Button and Space
On the Nothing 4a Pro, there is an Essential Button on the left side of the phone. Instantly capture, save, and organize anything important using AI. It works together with a feature called Essential Space (Nothing’s AI hub).
The Essential Space provides a smart digital notebook + memory system. The Essential Space can store screenshots, voice notes, ideas and images. It uses AI to organise, summarise, and extract useful information. From the collected data, it can even automatically detect events (dates, reminders).
When you press the button to take a screenshot, and if you hold it further, it can start screen recording. With a long press, you start a voice recording, and AI helps summarise the conversation, highlight key points, and extract action items. During the meeting, you capture the thoughts, photos and content from the apps. The Essential button and space help. Instead of opening apps, you capture first, organise later.
Audio / Sound Quality

The Nothing 4a audio speakers were good as per the price range. When you hold the phone horizontally, you get stereo sound. The treble is higher, and the Mids are clear but lack low-rumble bass. Overall, the Nothing Phone (4a) delivers clean, balanced, and practical audio, but not flagship-level richness.
Nothing 4a Pro – Benchmark

The phone was tested on various available benchmarks, and here are the results. Geekbench 6 CPU result: Single-Core Score – 1332 & Multi-Core score – 4229. 3D Mark Benchmark: Wild Life – 7664 & Steel Nomad Light – 775. PCMark result: 14080. Geekbench AI Score: Single Precision Score – 1761, Half Precision Score – 2312, & Quantized Score – 3423. AI Benchmark Score: 5129.

Conclusion – Nothing 4a Pro
The Nothing Phone (4a) Pro is a smartphone that focuses on experience over specifications. It does not try to compete with flagship devices on raw power. Instead, it builds its identity around design, usability, and a clean software experience.

The aluminum unibody design, bright AMOLED display, and improved Glyph Matrix give the phone a premium and distinctive presence in the mid-range segment. It is one of the few devices that still feels different every time you pick it up.
In real-world usage, the phone delivers stable performance, smooth UI, and excellent battery life. It is built for everyday users who prioritize reliability over extreme gaming performance.
The camera system performs well, especially in daylight and standard zoom ranges. However, features like 140x zoom feel more experimental than practical. The results are good, but not consistently flagship-level.
The Glyph Matrix and Essential Space features add a unique layer of functionality, especially for users who prefer less screen dependency and smarter interaction.

At AED 2,299 t The Nothing 4a Pro is not about specs dominance. It is about experience, identity, and usability.
