Then there is water.

According to the company, this figure comes from HONOR laboratory testing involving drops onto a smooth granite surface.
That is considerably higher than the height of a typical pocket, table or desk.
For everyday users, the important benefit is therefore not deliberately dropping the phone from 2.5 metres. It is having additional protection against the accidental falls that happen during normal use.
Again, there is an important limitation.
HONOR specifically states that the phone remains a precision electronic product and there is still a risk of damage following a fall.
In other words, 2.5-metre drop resistance is additional protection rather than permission to treat the phone carelessly.
What About UAE Summer Temperatures?
The thermal specification is particularly interesting for the Middle East.
HONOR says the X7e Plus 5G has been tested to support essential operation across ambient temperatures between -30°C and 50°C.

The company says its laboratory testing covered functions such as standby, calls, contacts and text messaging within this temperature range.
For UAE consumers, the upper end is clearly the more relevant figure.
However, a 50°C laboratory specification should not be interpreted as encouragement to leave the phone inside a parked vehicle during summer.
Actual device temperature can depend on sunlight, workload, charging, network conditions and how the phone is being used.
Still, designing a smartphone around high-temperature operation is a meaningful consideration for this market.
Durability Is More Than Surviving One Test
The most interesting part of HONOR’s argument is not necessarily a single 2.5-metre drop or an impressive water test.
For most consumers, durability matters over months and years.
