Oppo brand is known for providing the latest smartphone for the consumer and they have brought in a new accessory product Oppo Enco W 31 Wireless Earbuds to compliment series of smartphones in the affordable price range.
Review
The packaging of the Oppo Enco W31 Wireless Earbuds comes in white matt finish cardboard material square box. Inside you have the round pebble shape white matt finish plastic charging / carry case which has 350mAh battery built-in with USB Type-C charging pin to charge the battery with given cable. The case also comes with a function button to pair with a new smartphone and LED status light. The device weighs 50grams with the earbuds.
The charging case has a pair of earbuds. As you soon you open the case the LED indicator shows the battery status of the earbuds. The same LED light also switches on once you remove the earbuds from the case.
The first time pairing the Oppo Enco W31 Wireless Earbuds was quite easy, I just had to keep the charging case open and switch on the Bluetooth on the smartphone in pairing mode and without any issues, it paired. I presume the function button would come in handy for some branded smartphones or pairing with a new smartphone from another one or other Bluetooth devices.
Once the earbuds were paired, I even got the battery level status on my smartphone. I could not find any application dedicated for the Oppo Enco W31 Wireless Earbuds and many branded headphones have, to control or change the equalizer level on the headphones.
Comfort, Audio Testing & Review
Earbuds are white in colour with a silver touch to give stylish looks. The earbuds are very light. The earbuds are lodged the ear outer canal and concha cup area. The earbuds 7mm dynamic drivers are enclosed in bean shape design with short stem extended from the speaker unit which also houses the main mic for picking up voice call sound waves. There is also secondary mic on the top of the stem near the bean shape earbud which helps in dual-mic noise cancellation or screens the ambient noise. The stem of the earbud also has 2 charging pin on the inner side which help to charge the earbuds battery (25mAh each) when kept inside the charging case. Each package comes with two additional pair of silicon earbud cups to suit different size of ear.
Oppo Enco W31 Wireless Earbuds was tested continuously for more than 2 hours and still had battery left in the earphones. For the testing and review, the Oppo Enco W31 Wireless Earbuds was subjected to different kind of genre of music from Indian Classical, Western Classical, Rock, R&B, HipHop, Rap, Drum & Bass, Trance, Jazz, Electronic and Ambient. it was also tested while watching movie clips on YouTube.
The 7mm dynamic speaker could delivery great quality of sound which I didn’t actually expect for the price of the device. It surprised me with the quality of the sound of the bass, mids and treble. TPU composite graphene diaphragm speakers, effectively enhance high-frequency extension and low-frequency dive, and support AAC HD audio coding and SBC audio format for higher resolution and restore music details. The sound quality was clear and could hear the distinct frequency of the sound of each musical instruments which included bass which had the rumble and not a flat bass sound or just a loudspeaker. The earbuds have some interesting touch features which are two mode – Balance Mode (balanced equalized mode/ without any effect) and Bass Mode (enhanced with little bass equalized in the sound) to add more little punch in the music for the consumer. You can change the mode with a double tap on the left earbud.
To change to the next song, you have to double-tap on the right earbud. Also, to activate the google voice assistant you have to tap three times on any of the earbuds.
When you are listening to your music and want to stop or listen to the surrounding, just remove the earbuds, as they have infrared sensors by which the music pauses and it will resume once you put back your ear.
Are Headphones / Earbuds good for Exercise or workout?
The Oppo Enco W31 Wireless Earbuds has an IP54 rating which means it is safe from a splash of water or sweat and can be dust resistant up to a certain point. The earphones are light and comfortable could be used for workout or exercise.
Personal Suggestion – Please don’t wear any kind of headphones/earbuds during an intense workout which totally covers or isolates your ear and doesn’t allow to air to get into your ear. Firstly, your ear helps to maintain the balance of the body, so any total isolation may create unbalance or possible blackout. Secondly, use headphones/ earbuds with a low volume of sound, so you are aware of your surroundings especially outdoor. Thirdly, keep the volume lower the 75% of a level, as human ear adjusts to sound frequency. All doctor advises to avoid ear canal damage due to loud levels.
Conclusion
The Oppo Enco W31 Wireless Earbuds is a great product for the price, styling and sound quality. The features which make the device interactive is the tap function on the earbuds for changing the song, change the sound mode or even google assistant. The dual-mic noise cancellation earbuds also make the perfect companion for your smartphone for the people talk for long time hands-free. With Bluetooth 5.0, you get a better connection up to 10meter range and quality sound which also supports AAC audio format. The only thing didn’t like was the LED status indicator which could have been placed outside on the cover of the charging case. This way you could come to know your earbuds case is fully charged.
