Review of LG OLED65GX – 4K Television in the UAE

LG Magic Remote

The LG OLED65GXPVA comes with the LG Magic Remote (Model – MR20) which makes a lot of difference with the experience of the TV. The remote which is connected with the LG WebOS can control all the functions of the tv which includes a dedicated voice activation button. It works with the new AI function too. The LG Voice Mate speech recognition technology has been working great and as the days of review progressed the TV AI was learning my voice style and would respond in an instant without delay and found 95% correct interpretation of my voice request. There was a little issue with understanding Hindi movie and song titles but later it would pick up certain words after a repeated request over a certain period of time.

The remote also comes with dedicated Amazon Prime and Netflix Hotkeys which helps directly switching on the app from the menu. The remote comes with Intuitive Mouse Like Pointing and Wheel Control, Number Key Pad, Infrared connectivity technology. The buttons are raised and it is easy to access the button just by finger touch. It also comes with 3 spots with braille alphabets for blind people – power, volume, and channel.

Fixing LG OLED65GXPVA Television

The LG OLED65GXPVA is designed to fixed on a wall and LG provides a specially designed VESA Wall Mount which comes along the TV. It also comes with a diagram for measuring and fixing the VESA Wall Mount. The Wall Mount is designed in such a way that when you are fixing the TV or need to access the back panel buttons you can just pull the TV away from the wall and then push it back by which you are almost flushing to the wall and creating an appearance like a painting which only leaves a minimum gap of no more than 2 centimeters from the wall’s surface.

But as this was a review unit and didn’t want to damage my wall, I had requested for the stand to mount the TV. The LG team provided with a beautiful triangle design table mount which was fixed the team via 2 screws each.

Please Note: When you are buying this TV, make sure you enquire with the salesperson about fixing the TV, as there are possible fixing charges by the delivery team who has to drill holes and fix the TV. If you are looking for a table stand option like I had used for the review, there would additionally charge around AED 300 including installation.
If you are planning to do it yourself, make sure you have at least 2 persons or 3 would better to unbox and install. The TV should be picked up vertically and not horizontally, as the panel is thin and big, you can actually see the bend in the panel.
