Across the globe, we are hearing the news of the #COVID19 and many of the cities are under lockdown to avoid the spread of the deadly virus. The government bodies are doing their part with the restricting movement of people with lockdowns and curfew imposed for certain time or months.

Working parents are told to work from home or just stay back and follow the rules of lockdown. The certain schools have moved to online teaching the students and taking classes with the help of the online Apps.

The children are sitting at home and they may have access to video games, along with their online study, and other things to keep them busy but a time may come where curiosity and nothing to do new may encourage them to break the rules or do un-rational things. This may not apply to all the children as all human beings brain are different and also depends on the surrounding factors too.

Here are some suggestions and ideas which may help families to bond more with your children or family members in the lockdown period.

Bonding 

Taking the lockdown in a positive way, parents can take this opportunity to know deeper about their own children, their dreams, their wishes, their creative ideas which may help you decide the best for your children in the future.

Working parents should take this opportunity to spend more time and understand their children. They may learn more about their interest, what they want to be, what is their passion and interest in their life. Many of the children, who are at the crossroads to choose their future in the different fields of education, this is the right time to sit with them and understand their actual passion. Generally, many of the parents push their children in the field of study which they want their child to progress in their life, and chances are that the child may have a different interest.

Maybe this would be right given time to understand your child and help them to follow their passion or guide them to their right goal.

Bonding not only for their education but possibly make them know that you are there for them for their future.

Creative Reading and Act Play 

Most of the kids to my knowledge love to be read about the storybook than reading themselves. With the given time, this good opportunity to read out books to their children and make the story interesting and maybe acting out as plays with encouraging the children to participate as the story characters. There would mistakes and laughter and these are the moments that you can cherish them like good memory and remember in your lifetime.

 Of course, you cannot ignore children’s studies. It has been found if the children are taught their studies in a more interacting way, they can remember better than just dictating them. Parents can encourage their kids by telling them to read their essays or their homework and listen to them and applaud them at the end which will help them to increase their self-confidence. The English and History chapters can be acted out as plays, with children who are acting as part of the play or explained to them by storytelling, which surely can be a change in the children’s way of studying or remembering the subject.
It is also said, you can remember your things if you remember in a rhythm. you can also create musically rhythm to make your children remember some poems, stories, or even maths formulas.

Creative Design work 

Children are very creative and love to play and create new objects with pen and paper. Coloring and painting with parent participation can encourage the child to explore their creativity.

For me, I watched the complete Games of Thrones all the seasons again and watching old classic movies and old TV series too and learning new ways of communication and software.

  If you have a passion for photography, now would be a good time to spend with your camera and learn about lighting, compositing, color correction, and maybe click some interesting family portraits.

Many of the working professionals should try out to cook. This could be a good time to try your hand in the kitchen. As you all are aware, there are thousands of food recipes available online, you try making them and treat yourself and family in the lockdown period. Especially, bachelors who must be having a hard time eating the same food from mess or catering and can’t go out to eat something different. You may make a mistake for the 1st time but practice makes a person perfect. 

•  Musically Talented

  

  This passion would be maybe to very specific kinds of people who are musically talented or inclined to learn. This would be the right time to pick your guitar or play piano and possibilities this may give you the happiness and maybe come out with your own original tune. 

• Music Mixing / Djing

  

  There are people who love mixing music or Djing, to create your own track or create a new mix track for listening. They can also try their hand on the online application for Djing like a virtual DJ app and other online apps available. There are tons of music samples available online and you can try to create music track and you don’t know maybe the music track you have created can make you famous and bring you a fortune.

•  Video Blogging 

  

  Now with high-speed internet, the young generation has various options to find new ideas and inspiration to be creative that maybe via videos via smartphones or video cameras. You can try to record your own videos and learn to edit via online software.
  We are already aware of the influencers/bloggers creating threads/ post on social media channels. You can try your hand on make-up tutorials or singing, etc. For example –  Try to make it in our own mother tongue and maybe you will stand out different from other influencers/ bloggers.

Upgrade your Skills

Learning new things and upgrading your educational qualification is always profitable for the working professionals. There are many short and long course which you can register and get certified in a particular skill set. Maybe when you rejoin your company and such a certification course may help you to get a high position in the company with possible higher pay.

Health is Wealth

Working people may walk 1000 – 5000 steps daily. During the lockdown, it may further get reduced. Any form of exercise is always beneficial for your body and your life. 

There are a lot of online videos to inspire you to workout at home. You can do yoga, stretching, spot jogging, deep breathing, 5mins walk in the house after every meal.
