Introduction
Photography has evolved dramatically over the past decade. What was once dominated by professional cameras is now increasingly driven by smartphone photography, enabling creators to capture stunning moments with a device that is always within reach. From breathtaking landscapes and architecture to portraits, wildlife, and street photography, mobile photography has become an important medium for visual storytelling.
Recognising this creative evolution, Huawei has officially opened submissions for the HUAWEI XMAGE Awards 2026, one of the world’s largest smartphone photography competitions. The competition began on 23 March 2026 and will remain open until 16 August 2026, providing photographers across the UAE and around the world with an opportunity to showcase their talent on a global stage.
Whether you are a professional photographer, content creator, hobbyist, or mobile photography enthusiast, the HUAWEI XMAGE Awards offer an opportunity to gain international recognition while competing for attractive prizes.
A Global Platform for Mobile Photography
The HUAWEI XMAGE Awards have become a significant event within the photography community. Every year, thousands of photographers submit their best work, demonstrating both technical excellence and creative storytelling through mobile photography.
All submitted entries will be evaluated based on four key criteria:
- Aesthetic Feeling
- Creativity
- Social Value
- Relevance to the Contest Theme
Following the submission period, approved entries will undergo an initial screening by the organising committee before advancing to the final judging stage.
A panel of judges will then select the prestigious “XMAGE 100 Winning Photos.” From these winning entries, three outstanding photographs will be chosen as the Grand Prize Winners.
Global XMAGE Awards Prizes
This year’s competition offers substantial rewards for photographers whose work stands out among the global submissions.
Grand Prize Winners
- 3 Winners
- XMAGE Creation Fund worth USD 10,000 each
XMAGE 100 Winners
- 97 Winners
- XMAGE Creation Fund worth USD 1,500 each
Beyond the financial rewards, winners gain valuable international exposure and recognition within the global photography community.
XMAGE UAE Social Media Competition
In addition to the global HUAWEI XMAGE Awards, Huawei UAE is running the XMAGE UAE Social Media Competition, giving local photographers another opportunity to win exclusive Huawei devices.
The initiative is designed to encourage photographers and creators across the UAE to share their best photography work on Instagram while competing for local prizes and global recognition simultaneously.
UAE Competition Prizes
Ten winners will be selected by local judges to receive the following Huawei products:
- 1 × HUAWEI Mate 80 Pro
- 1 × HUAWEI MatePad Mini
- 4 × HUAWEI WATCH FIT 5
- 4 × HUAWEI FreeClip 2
The local competition gives UAE participants an additional incentive to showcase their creativity while competing for premium Huawei devices.
One Entry, Two Chances to Win
One of the biggest advantages for UAE participants is that entries submitted through the UAE Social Media Competition will automatically qualify for the global HUAWEI XMAGE Awards.
This means photographers have the opportunity to compete for Huawei devices locally while simultaneously being considered for the global XMAGE 100 Awards and the prestigious Grand Prize worth USD 10,000.

How Winners Will Be Selected
