A few days ago, I had the privilege of driving the new Zeekr 7X EV through an exclusive media event organized by AW Rostamani and Zeekr UAE. The 320-kilometer journey offered the perfect opportunity to understand this tech-luxe SUV in real-world UAE conditions. The experience combined comfort, design, and futuristic intelligence across a curated route from Abu Dhabi to Dubai and through the stunning desert landscapes of Ras Al Khaimah.
Arriving at the Starting Point
Our media group gathered at the Zeekr Showroom in Dubai, where Zeekr staff welcomed us warmly. We were driven to the Shangri-La Qaryat Al Beri in the Zeekr 7X EV, allowing us to enjoy the rear cabin comfort. This thoughtful gesture helped us experience the luxury and attention to detail usually reserved for premium SUVs. The evening concluded with a relaxed dinner, where conversations flowed easily among the media and Zeekr teams.
The next morning began early. We went to the Zeekr Abu Dhabi showroom for a short briefing about the Zeekr 7X EV. The attendees were paired into teams of two. I partnered with Chris Fernando from Gadget Voize, a familiar name in the UAE tech community.
Beginning the Drive Experience
The journey started from the Zeekr Showroom and would cover three main segments. The first stretch led us to Al Habtoor Polo Resort in Dubai for a short break. The second part took us deeper into Ras Al Khaimah, reaching The Ritz-Carlton, Al Wadi Desert. The final phase ended at the Zeekr Showroom in Dubai. The entire route covered approximately 325 kilometers of mixed driving conditions.
I began the drive with Chris as my co-passenger. The Zeekr 7X immediately impressed me with its 360° camera system. It performed beautifully at low speeds and around tight roundabouts. During the 320-kilometer drive, the Zeekr 7X showcased its efficiency and long-range capabilities.
