Sound Quality – Surprised Me!

Honestly! I didn’t expect the excellent quality of sound coming from a pocket-size Bluetooth speaker.  You might be surprised by the sound that comes out of this tiny package. The SONOS Roam 2 delivers a surprisingly rich and balanced sound. Vocals are clear, highs are crisp, and the bass is surprisingly deep for a speaker this size. Trueplay tuning ensures the sound is optimized for your environment, whether you’re indoors or outdoors.

You may not get earth-shattering bass like you’d get from a larger speaker, but for its size, the Roam 2 holds its own. Perfect for everything from podcasts to pop music. For testing, I kept the volume at 50% and 80% of the volume and worked beautifully. Even tested at 100% the Treble and Mids. was loud and the bass was less but didn’t have distorted sound.

Battery Life and Charging

SONOS claims a 10-hour battery life, and that seems about right. It’s enough to get you through a day of outdoor adventures without worrying about running out of juice. The wireless charging feature is a nice touch, but it’s not super-fast. If you are not using the device for a long time then it will go to standby mode which extends the battery life and you switch on by clicking the power button once. The SONOS Roam 2 can be connected to a WI-FI network by which the device seamlessly integrates with the SONOS ecosystem, so if you’ve got other SONOS speakers, you can group them for a multi-room listening experience. Voice control with Alexa or Google Assistant is also supported.

The IP67 rating means you can take it to the beach, pool, or even the shower without worrying about water damage. It’s also dustproof, so you can take it on camping trips without a worry. Once you have downloaded the App, you will asked to join by login or create a login. This will help you to create your own SONOS system. For the existing SONOS System users, you have to add the speaker which you have to switch on and pair via Bluetooth. Then you follow the instructions and connect with your Wi-Fi network to create access to your SONOS System and also for Voice Assistant for the Home network. So if you have multiple SONOS speakers across your home, you can control and connect with all the devices from the App. You can activate the TruePlay when the microphone is on and Auto TruePlay will adjust ROAM 2’s sound to fit your environment.

Another benefit of the SONOS App, you get SONOS Radio which has several good music channels from the 80’s 90’s, Rap, Acoustic and a lot more. The sound quality from the SONOS Radio is great quality and if you want the best then you need to upgrade the SONOS Radio channel for HD Sound quality for a price.

It is perfect for the consumer who wants quality sound in a small size as a travel companion and leisure time. It is a great device for Podcast listening, music and even for meetings connected to your laptop via Bluetooth or even for hands-free calling.
