Introduction
Thanks to TOZO, I regularly receive their products for review and appreciate their commitment to consistently improving and listening to their audience. TOZO releases the latest devices to meet consumer needs while maintaining an affordable price range. In the past, I have reviewed many TOZO wearable products, including earbuds (both closed-type and open-type), headphones, and smartwatches. Their packaging, device quality, and budget-friendly pricing have always impressed me, especially compared to competitors.
Recently, I received the new TOZO NC9 ANC earbuds for review. The TOZO NC9 closely resembles the TOZO T10, which I reviewed recently, but with a few changes and a more attractive price for consumers.
Design & Specification
The TOZO NC9 review unit arrived in a white box with black-and-white images of the device and silver-embossed text on the sides and back. After removing the transparent plastic cover, you slide off the outer cover sleeve to access the inside. The device is securely packed with a translucent cover, and the box contains a USB Type-A to USB Type-C charging cable, five pairs of additional silicon ear tips, a quick guide, and a user manual.
TOZO NC9 Case
I received the unit in matte black, featuring the TOZO logo in shiny black on top. The front of the case has a digital black-and-white display, while the entire body is crafted from ABS plastic. On the back, you’ll find the USB Type-C port and a reset and connection button. The flat bottom helps keep the case upright. A shiny black band runs along the hinge of the cover, adding a subtle touch. The NC9 case includes a 500mAh battery, which can fully charge the earbuds at least 2.5 times. Charging the case from zero to 100% takes around two hours with the provided USB Type-C cable. TOZO states that the case supports wireless charging, though it did not work with the TOZO wireless charging pad.
TOZO NC9 Earbuds
The TOZO NC9 earbuds are lightweight and ergonomically shaped to fit all ear types. The earbuds come with five additional pairs of ear tips to ensure a comfortable fit for different users. Each earbud, crafted from ABS plastic in matte black, has the “TOZO” logo embossed in shiny black on top. The bottom, which contacts the ear, has a shiny black finish and a protruding speaker part with a silicon ear tip. Each earbud is marked clearly with “L” and “R.”
The build quality feels solid, thanks to the plastic and metal components. The TOZO NC9 earbuds feature a 9mm dynamic driver with a frequency range of 14Hz to 20kHz and support AAC and SBC audio codecs. Each earbud has a 70mAh battery, providing up to 18 hours of playtime at 50% volume on a single charge and up to 72 hours with the charging case. Fully charging the earbuds takes around two hours.
The earbuds are IPX6-rated, so they withstand dirt, sweat, and water droplets. Bluetooth 5.3 supports HSP, HFP, A2DP, and AVRCP and provides in-call stereo sound. Controls are conveniently placed on the right and left earbuds. Both earbuds allow you to control play, pause, stop, and manage calls. Use the right earbud to increase the volume and activate voice assistance, while the left earbud decreases volume and toggles between Active Noise Cancellation (on/off) and transparency mode. Additional features and an equalizer are accessible through the TOZO App on your smartphone.
Customization – TOZO App
For first-time readers, download the TOZO App from the Google Play or iOS Store. After downloading, remove the earbuds from the charging case, go to your Bluetooth settings, search for TOZO NC9, and pair the earbuds. Then, open the TOZO App, where the TOZO NC9 will be ready to connect. After pairing, check the settings for updates and follow the in-app instructions if updates are available. The App shows the earbuds’ battery level, Active Noise Cancellation, and other modes. The Equalizer section offers 32 presets, and you can customize and save your own settings for use with all other TOZO audio products.
Microphone
I tested the TOZO NC9 on Google Meet video calls. My brother verified that the voice quality sounded natural. The microphone effectively captures voices, enhancing clarity during conversations.
Sound Quality of TOZO NC9
The TOZO NC9 features a 9mm dynamic driver with built-in microphones. It offers active noise cancellation (ANC), transparency mode, and additional modes through the TOZO App. The speaker system produces frequencies from 14Hz to 20kHz and supports both AAC and SBC audio codecs.
Bluetooth 5.3 ensures a stable connection within 10 meters, though I found that it extends up to 15 meters in a straight line from the source. The sound quality is clear, with strong bass in standard mode. The TOZO app lets you adjust the bass and treble to suit your preferences, enhancing the listening experience. The sound quality feels natural, with well-balanced bass that doesn’t strain the ears, even in Bass+ mode. Mids and trebles also sound balanced, providing good value for the price.

Connectivity and Battery Life
The TOZO NC9 connects wirelessly via Bluetooth 5.3, providing a stable and reliable connection. Through the TOZO app, you can pair the earbuds with multiple devices, making it convenient to switch between music and calls. For wired use, the earbuds also connect via the 3.5mm audio cable, allowing direct analogue-quality sound from the source.

Comfort
The TOZO NC9 performs well in comfort for extended listening sessions. During intense workouts, larger ear tips may cause slight discomfort as the ear canals help balance body air pressure, while smaller tips may compromise ANC effectiveness or fit.

The TOZO NC9 is priced at AED 150. The packaging is top-notch and reflects the standards of premium earbuds. Despite its affordable price point, it offers excellent sound quality, a solid build, and various useful features.
