Soundcore
Anker Innovations created the brand Soundcore in 2014 to cater specifically to consumer audio devices. In that year, Anker commenced the sale of Bluetooth speakers on Amazon. By 2016, Anker initiated the development and preparation for the launch of their inaugural headphone products. In 2017, a Kickstarter campaign for true wireless earbuds was launched by Anker.
In 2018, Anker Innovations Technology Co., Ltd introduced a new audio equipment brand, Soundcore. The company has successfully expanded the distribution of Soundcore’s products to more than 50 countries worldwide, and the consumer base has grown to 10 million.

The Soundcore Rave Neo 2 experience
Upon opening the box, my initial impression was that it was just another Bluetooth speaker with LED lights. However, my surprise came when I switched on the speaker and connected it to my smartphone, as you can see in the video. The sound quality exceeded my expectations for its size. What impressed me the most was that the sound remained clear and undistorted even at full volume.

I was able to establish a direct Bluetooth connection for instant connectivity, and with Bluetooth 5.3, I could play music from a distance of more than 50 meters. This testing took place during a barbecue night party. Despite being a directional speaker, the sound was remarkably loud even at 75% volume. The bass quality was a standout feature, delivering a low rumble even in the open areas of the desert.

The convenience of connecting smartphones was notable, as a simple click on the Bluetooth button allowed my friends to connect their devices instantly.
Soundcore App

In the second test, I utilized the Soundcore Rave Neo 2 through the Soundcore App. The application allowed me to take control of the multi-colour LED lights on the speaker, offering various preset settings to set the mood according to my preferences. There are 6 EQ settings in the presets – Soundcore Signature, Voice, Treble Boost, Balance, Custom and BassUp. Set auto-power off time: Set an auto-power off time (5/10/20/60 minutes, 20 minutes by default) and Voice prompt.
Through the Soundcore App, I could create a DJ effect, enabling control over the LED light effect and the addition of sound effects provided by the app.

While the company claimed 18 hours of playtime on a single charge, during the overnight barbecue night, the speaker lasted only for 10 hours with the LED lights on. I had to switch off the LED lights using the dedicated button on the speaker. Subsequently, I was able to use the speaker for an additional hour.
To extend the usage, I utilized the Anker 535 Portable Power Station to recharge and use the speaker for another 3 hours, concluding our party in the early morning.

It’s possible that the speaker could have achieved the full 18 hours on a single charge if the LED lights were switched off from the beginning of the party. Despite this, the IPX7 rating of the Soundcore Rave Neo 2 ensured that I didn’t have to worry about dust or water. The speaker withstood early morning dew in the desert without any issues to the speaker or its components.
Featuring a Party Cast 2.0 technology button, the speaker can wirelessly link over 100 Partycast-compatible speakers to sync up music and create a beat-driven light show.
Overall, my experience with the Soundcore Rave Neo 2 speaker was excellent, and I would recommend it to consumers seeking indoor and outdoor speakers. With its IPX7 rating, the speaker is ideal for parties, providing peace of mind against water splashes and dust.
(Please note: IPX7 rating means water resistant and dust proof but cannot be submerged in water and not waterproof)
