Review of the Ninja Swirl by Creami in the UAE

Introduction

It is April. Summer heat will start soon. You would want something cold, like an icy drink or a frozen dessert, to cool your body. Enjoy that moment. You can buy cold drinks and ice creams from the market. Many branded products have too much sugar. They contain preservatives. Some have added vegetable oils. These ingredients can cause harm with long-term use. They do not suit certain consumers.

Ice cream makers have evolved significantly over the years. Traditional machines required churning, ice, and constant monitoring. Modern counter-top solutions simplify the entire process. Brands focus on convenience, customization, and healthier dessert options.

Ninja stands at the forefront of this transformation. Known for blending performance with innovation, Ninja introduced the original CREAMi series. It changed how users create frozen desserts at home. It processes pre-frozen bases into smooth textures instead of churning liquid mixtures.

The latest evolution is the Ninja Swirl by CREAMi. This model expands beyond scooped ice cream. It introduces soft serve functionality, bringing cafe-style desserts into home kitchens. With multiple programs and improved hardware, it aims to deliver versatility and ease of use.

I spent time with the Ninja Swirl in UAE conditions. Here is my detailed review covering its design, performance, usability, and value.

Design and Specifications (Model – NC701UK)

The Ninja Swirl by CREAMi features a premium counter-top design. It feels sturdy and modern, with a functional layout that prioritizes usability. Yet, it is not a compact appliance. You will need dedicated counter space in your kitchen.

The machine stands tall and slightly bulky. This is expected considering its motor power and dual functionality. The platinum silver finish gives it a premium look, suitable for modern UAE kitchens.

Key Specifications:

• Dimensions: 44.5 x 38.5 x 25.5 cm
• Weight: 9.45 kg
• Capacity: 2 x 480 ml tubs
• Programs: 13 one-touch settings
• Material: BPA-free, dishwasher-safe components
• Included Accessories: Creamerizer paddle, dispensing lid, nozzle, drip tray

The highlight feature is its 2-in-1 Creamify Technology. It allows the machine to process frozen ingredients into both scoopable ice cream and soft serve.

Another standout is the soft serve dispensing system. It includes a nozzle and a handle with multiple speeds. This lets you create swirl-style desserts like ice cream parlours. The build quality is solid. The removable parts are easy to clean and dishwasher-safe.

Overall, the design is practical, premium, and clearly focused on versatility.

Usage and Experience

Using the Ninja Swirl is different from traditional ice cream makers. It follows a freeze-first approach. You prepare your ingredients, freeze them for about 24 hours, and then process them in the machine.

Setup and First Use

The setup process is straightforward. The machine comes with clear instructions and a recipe guide. The interface is intuitive, with clearly labeled buttons for each program.

Once your mixture is frozen, simply:

• Insert the pint into the outer bowl
• Select the desired program
• Let the machine process the contents

The 800-watt motor powers through frozen ingredients using the Creamerizer paddle. This results in a smooth and creamy texture.

Performance in Real Use

For testing the product, we decided to make Strawberry Yogurt Ice cream. We also chose healthy dry fruit with Fox-nut ice cream. Additionally, we made Indian Gooseberry sorbet.

The desserts above were prepared on different days and frozen for 24 hours. The process is simple: remove the frozen dessert from the provided BPA-free swirl pint (480ml) with the storage lid. Put the swirl pint in the outer bowl. Attach the outer bowl lid with the Creamerizer Paddle. The Paddle attaches via the locking mechanism. Then insert the outer bowl with the lid into the machine by twisting and locking it in place. Choose the preset choice from the touch control menu. I chose the scoop alternative, and the machine started working automatically. After about 3-4 minutes, the Creamerizer Paddle cuts through the solid frozen dessert. It pulverizes and blends the contents. Your dessert is ready. I had to do a second run for better blending, especially for the strawberry Yogurt soft serve.

Soft serve mode is where this machine truly stands out. After the blending is done, we need to open the outer bowl. Remove the lid. Then, take out the swirl bowl. Then attach the provided swirl nozzle to the swirl bowl. Then attach the dispensing lid with Swirl-Press to the bowl. Attach the full unit to the swirl dispenser unit area. Then, press down the dispensing handle. This releases the softy ice cream into a bowl or ice cream cone. The dispensing handle makes it easy to create swirl cones. This adds a fun, family-friendly experience at home.

The Ninja Swirl delivers impressive consistency. Whether you are making ice cream, sorbet, or frozen yogurt, the texture remains smooth and well-balanced.

It also supports healthier recipes. The CreamiFit mode allows low-calorie desserts under 150 kcal per serving.

From my testing:

Ice cream textures were rich and creamy. Sorbets turned out smooth without ice crystals. Soft serve worked well but required slight experimentation. The machine is relatively quiet compared to older models. Nonetheless, it is still noticeable during operation.

Things to Consider

There are a few practical limitations:

• You must plan ahead due to 24-hour freezing
• The machine is large and requires storage space
• Multiple parts need cleaning after use
• Despite these, the overall experience is enjoyable and rewarding.

Pros & Cons

Pros:

• Excellent texture quality across all dessert types
• Unique soft serve functionality at home
• 13 versatile programs for customization
• Supports healthy and protein-based recipes
• Premium build and modern design
• Easy-to-use interface

Cons:

• Requires 24-hour pre-freezing
• Bulky design will not suit small kitchens
• Higher price compared to standard ice cream makers
• Multiple components to clean
• Soft serve consistency needs adjustment

Why do I prefer homemade ice cream and sorbet over store-bought options in the UAE summer?

UAE summers can feel intense, even indoors with air conditioning. I often find myself reaching for something extra cold, beyond just water or juice. Ice cream and sorbet have always been my go-to comfort treats since childhood.

Yet, over time, I have become more conscious about sugar intake and ingredients. Most store-bought options contain high sugar levels, preservatives, and additives. These are added to improve shelf life and texture, but they reduce overall freshness and control.

That is where homemade desserts make a real difference for me. With appliances like the Ninja Swirl by CREAMi, I can fully control ingredients, sugar levels, and serving sizes. I can experiment with natural fruits, low-sugar recipes, or even dairy-free options.

It also adds a personal touch at home. When kids or guests visit, serving freshly made soft-serve or scooped ice cream feels special. It turns a simple dessert into an experience, while giving me peace of mind about what everyone is consuming.

Price & Availability

The Ninja Swirl by CREAMi is priced in the premium segment. In the UAE, it is available on ninjakitcen.ae for AED 1,799. There are other offers on, depending on the retailer and availability.

Compared to earlier CREAMi models, this is a noticeable price increase. But, the addition of soft serve functionality justifies the premium for many users.

You can find it through official Ninja UAE stores, Amazon, and select electronics retailers.

Conclusion

The Ninja Swirl by CREAMi adds value to your kitchen. It is a great product. It is especially useful for a healthy cold dessert experience. The Ninja Swirl by CREAMi is not just an ice cream maker. It is a versatile dessert system designed for modern kitchens.

It successfully combines scoop-style ice cream and soft serve in one appliance. This alone sets it apart in the market. The performance is consistent, and the customization options are excellent.

Nonetheless, it is not for everyone. The size, price, and preparation time not suit casual users. But for families, food enthusiasts, or health-conscious users, it offers great value.

If you enjoy experimenting with desserts at home, the Ninja Swirl is a powerful and rewarding appliance. It brings creativity, convenience, and cafe-style results into your kitchen.
