HUAWEI Watch FIT 2 is the latest Health & Fitness monitoring wearable device that was released on 20th April 2022. Huawei team had sent the HUAWEI Watch FIT 2 device for review and have reviewed it for more than 2 weeks. Please see the details of the product and the review.
Body & Specifications
The watch case is made of polymer material with a silicon material based strap and comes with a dimension of 46 x 33.5 x 10.8 mm. It weighs only 26 grams without the strap. The review unit which I have received is the Isle Blue colour case with Isle Blue silicone strap. The active edition watch comes with a 130 – 210mm size wrist strap.
The HUAWEI Watch FIT 2 came with a 1.74 inches AMOLED colour screen with 336 x 480 pixels with PPI 336 touchscreen display with slide, and touch gestures. The screen-to-body ratio is 72.2%. It comes with a 9-axis IMU sensor (Accelerometer sensor, Gyroscope sensor, Geomagnetic sensor) Optical heart rate sensor
The body of the watch comes with one function button which helps to control and select the requested section along with touch control. The watch comes with the latest Harmony OS and model no – YDA-B09S
It has got a battery which can give around 2 weeks of battery life on a single charge. For charging, HUAWEI Watch FIT 2 has a cable with a USB Type-A pin on another side with a magnetic charging thimble that can be charged to any USB Type-A power adaptor or laptop socket. The watch comes with a 5 ATM rating which means, the device is water resistance up to 50 meters. So you can use it in shallow water for exercises like swimming in a pool or ocean but not for scuba diving, waterskiing, or other activities involving high-velocity water or submersion below shallow depth.
The Review
While reviewing the HUAWEI Watch FIT 2 watch, the watch has scratch resist 3D curved glass display which makes the watch look bezel-less. The watch comes with multiple watch faces with some analogue and digital face dial designs available on the app which gives a rich and stylish appeal for both genders.
The watch can be used as a sports trainer as it has Accelerometer, Gyroscope & Optical heart rate sensors. There are 97 presets available on the watch which can use during workouts or even on casual walks.

How to connect HUAWEI Watch FIT 2 with a smartphone?
For the review of the HUAWEI Watch FIT 2, I have used the Huawei P30 Pro smartphone which has the built-in Health App. (For others- consumers using Android and IOS smartphones need to download the Health App from Google or Apple Store). Just Switch-On the watch and pair it with the smartphone via Bluetooth and you will be promoted with a pairing code. Once the watch is connected the Health App will check for the firmware and if there is an update, it will prompt you and update the firmware and you are ready to use it.
Through the Health App, you can track your progress and amount of calories burnt and also the kilometres you have walked in the day. The App also suggests you, add your profile and data like weight, and age and you can set a goal to reach a certain target of weight as per your choice.
So while out on your walk or jogging, you don’t need to carry the smartphone, data is collected in the memory of the band and the HUAWEI Watch FIT automatically syncs with your smartphone once it is in the proximity of the smartphone.
HUAWEI Watch FIT 2 can be used while swimming as the watch is water-resistant up to 5ATM (Water-Resistant to 50 Meters). If by chance you are worried about water inside the watch, there is an option by which you can drain the water from the watch.
The 24/7 Heart rate monitor provides a more efficient and accurate real-time personal measurement of your heart rate. Coupled with the intelligent AI heart rate algorithm, it monitors your heart rate throughout the entire day, even while you are sleeping.
So, you can track running (indoor and outdoor), walking, elliptical, rowing (indoor and outdoor), cycling (indoor and outdoor), swimming (pool and open water), climbing, hiking, trail running, triathlon, and aerobics.
Personal Assistant
Some of the function which can help during the meetings is the notification like messages, and SMS which also includes receiving and rejecting incoming calls without looking at my phone. I could also call back people via my watch from my contacts without accessing the phone. You can add an alarm to your watch, you can find your smartphone with a ringing option from your watch.
Also, I could control my music via the watch during my walks and if you are working out indoors, then you can easily use the Bluetooth music function around 10 -15 meters in the line of sight.
The watch comes with continuous 24/7 measuring of your heart rate, and the oxygen level (SpO2) in your blood. You can set the alert level if your blood oxygen level drops.
The watch can also monitor your stress level which is done 24/7 automatically. This can help the user to understand which particular time and why your stress level increased and the user may use this data to change the lifestyle for better healthy living.
The HUAWEI Watch FIT 2 has the TruSleep 2.0 built in and with this, it scientifically tracks and diagnoses 6 common types of sleep issues while providing suggestions for better rest. And, while you sleep, the watch monitors your heart rate, analyses your breathing and awards a score on your overall sleep quality.
There is an automatic notification which indicates or reminds you to drink water or get up and walk if you are sitting in one place for a long time. This is a great help as sometimes; you don’t realize that you have no water for a long time and also helps you to get up from your seat and make you do some exercise or walk from your long seating position.
You can pick up calls and talk to the person via microphone and speaker on the watch. You can hear the music too but the speaker sound quality of the watch is average. You can control the music of your smartphone from the watch and also use the watch as the smartphone camera shutter.
