Huawei Band 6 is the latest Health & Fitness monitoring wearable device that was released on 20th April 2021.
Huawei team had sent the Huawei Band 6 device for review and have reviewed it for more than 2 weeks. Please see the details of the product and review.
Body & Specifications
The Watch case is made of durable polymer material and comes with a dimension of 43 x 25.4 x 10.99 mm. It weighs only 18 grams without the strap.
The review unit which I have received is the Sakura Gold Case (Rose gold) with Sakura Pink strap.
The Huawei Band 6 came with a 1.47 ″ AMOLED 194 x 368 pixels touchscreen display with slide, touch gestures. It comes with Accelerometer, Gyroscope & Optical heart rate sensors.
The body of the watch comes with one function button which helps to control and select the requested section along with touch control.
it has got a battery which can give around 14 days of battery life on a single charge. For charging, Huawei Band 6 has a Magnetic Charging cable that can be charged to any USB Type-A power adaptor or laptop socket.
The Review
While reviewing the Huawei Band 6 watch, the watch has scratch resist 3D curved glass display which makes the watch look bezel-less. The watch comes with multiple watch faces with some analogue and digital face dial designs available on the app which gives a rich and stylish appeal for a lady’s watch.
The watch can be used as a sports trainer as it has Accelerometer, Gyroscope & Optical heart rate sensors. There are 96 presets available on the watch which can use during workouts or even casual walks.
How to connect Huawei Band 6 with a smartphone?
For the review of the Huawei Band 6, I have used the Huawei P40 Pro smartphone which has the built-in Health App. (For others- consumer using Android and IOS smartphones need to download the Health App from Google or Apple Store). Just Switch-On the watch and pair it with the smartphone via Bluetooth and you will be promoted with a pairing code. Once the watch is connected the Health App will check for the firmware and if there is an update, it will prompt you and update the firmware and you are ready to use it.
Through the Health App, you can track your progress and amount of the calories burnt and also the kilometres you have walked in the day. The App also suggests you, add your profile and data like weight, age and you can set a goal to reach a certain target of weight as per your choice.
So while out on your walk or jogging, you don’t need to carry the smartphone, data is collected in the memory of the band and the Band 6 automatically syncs with your smartphone once it is in the proximity of the smartphone.
Huawei Band 6 can be used while swimming as the watch is water-resistant up to 5 ATM (Water-Resistant to 50 Meters). With the 24/7 Heart rate monitor to provide a more efficient and accurate real-time personal measurement of your heart rate. Coupled with the intelligent AI heart rate algorithm, it monitors your heart rate throughout the entire day, even while you are sleeping.
So, you can track running (indoor and outdoor), walking, elliptical, rowing (indoor and outdoor), cycling (indoor and outdoor), swimming (pool and open water), climbing, hiking, trail running, triathlon, and aerobics.
Personal Assistant
Some of the function which can help during the meetings is the notification like messages, SMS which also includes receiving and rejecting incoming calls without looking at my phone. I could also call back people via my watch from my contacts without accessing the phone.
Also, I could control my music via the watch during my walks and if you are working out indoors, then you can easily use the Bluetooth music function around 10 -15 meters in the line of sight.
Heart, SpO2, Stress & Sleep Monitoring
In the current times of the pandemic, it is good to have an additional measurement device to measure your heart condition and your oxygen level in your blood. The TruSEEN 4.0 heart rate monitoring app and sensor can track your heart rate 24/7. Band 6 can monitor your blood oxygen level 24/7 and you can set the alert level if your blood oxygen level drops.
