The Review
Amazfit T-Rex2 smartwatch came in 4 colours printed black and orange colour box which had the smartwatch image, logo and Zepp OS mentioned on the front with few highlights mentioned on the box. The back side of the box has further details in English and Chinese. There is a barcode sticker which has the barcodes and ember black colour mentioned on the top of the sticker. You have to open the box from the bottom side and slide the inside box which has the smartwatch and other details.

Once you remove the inside box, you will find the smartwatch placed in the package and other details like the warranty card, and charging cable on the side compartment.
The first look of the smartwatch will remind of the Casio G-Shock styling which has been very popular with the earlier generations. The watch is a little bulky if you compare it to many of the current smartwatches. But again, this is military-grade tough with a 10ATM water resistance grade watch, so we don’t need to worry about rough terrain handling, drops or underwater adventure. The watch dial is totally sealed.
The dial has a four screw design which I presume cannot be opened through distinct four buttons mentioning the functions of the watch. There is a metal loop on the side which has the Amazfit mentioned in red. The 4 buttons have a mesh kind of design which helps to avoid any slips while pressing the buttons. The watch comes with Silicone standard straps, belt buckle locking, and two belt loops. Looking at the size of the watch and strap, it wouldn’t look great on very thin hands.

When you turn around the watch, you can see the magnetic 2-pin pogo pin and BioTrackerTM 3.0 PPG biometric sensor which supports blood oxygen and 6PD.
Overall the smartwatch has a very robust, tough, stylish look and feel.
The striking feature of the smartwatch is the dial design which looks quite realistic even other dial designs have animated designs with depth and shadow instead of flat design.
How to switch on and use the Amazfit T-Rex2 smartwatch?

Once you remove the smartwatch, click on the Sel button for a few seconds till it boots up. Then you will screen the QR Code on the watch Screen. You have to download the Zepp OS app from Google Play Store and the iOS store.
Once the Zepp App is downloaded, switch on Bluetooth then go to add device and scan the QR Code from the Amazfit T-Rex2 smartwatch screen. The process is simple and the pairing happens quite fast. The App will suggest updating the OS of the watch and that takes around 15 – 20mins and updating the watch. Once the update is done then follow the steps from choosing the language to pairing the watch again. And you are ready to go.
The touch screen swipe of the dial is quite good and quick. With the swipe down, you can access the setting and more. With on right swipe, you can access your notification from the smartphone. On swiping left you can access all the Apps List which includes Heart rate monitoring, exercise mode and a lot more. You can also go deeper into the menu of each app by clicking the app and choosing the mode from the app. You can delete apps from the watch directly from the watch and for adding the apps you can use the Zepp OS app from your smartphone.

The Amazfit T-Rex2 smartwatch comes with 156+ sports modes with smart recognition of 15 strength training movements and 8 sports movements. It has got track mode with a training template available on the Zepp App and on the watch. As for the health monitoring, it has 24-hour monitoring, heart rate monitor, Blood-oxygen saturation, Stress level, Manual Measurement, One-tap measurement, Sleep Quality Monitoring (including REM) with Sleep stages, Daytime naps, Sleep breathing quality, Sleep score, Health Assessment System, PAI and Breathing Exercise. It can track menstrual cycle, abnormally high & low heart rate, Low blood oxygen, High-stress level and provide Health reminders.
Overall View

I have worn the Amazfit T-Rex2 smartwatch for more than a week and used it for exercise walking. I have done the submerge test for 10mins and worn it while taking a bath. There were no issues. The watch may look bulky but when you wear it, it feels quite comfortable and doesn’t feel the weight. The AMOLED touchscreen display is quite responsive with 4 touch buttons. The watch dial displays are quite realistic and have animated dial designs.

You can download quite a lot of new designs from the Zepp app. The watch is robust, stylish and endures drops, and water resistance and can be used for adventurous trips.

The watch has an altimeter, barometer and dual-band GPS. The Zepp app is good with a lot of details about the exercise with details. The 500mAh battery has 24 days of life with 45 days of standby. On heavy usage of the apps and depending on the GPS signal the battery life would reduce to even 10 days. You can control the music on your phone via the watch including the change of songs. The company website mentions the watch work in a cold climate and works in 70 degrees hot climate.

The Amazfit T-Rex2 smartwatch is priced very well for its features. It is priced at AED799 and you can buy the smartwatch from EROS.ae.
