Introduction
SoundPeats is a young company that was started in 2010. It is known for creating high-quality audio products at affordable prices. The SoundPEATS PearlClip Pro are wireless open-type earbuds designed to clip onto your ears, offering a comfortable and secure fit. This unique design is excellent for people who don’t like traditional in-ear buds.
Design & Specification
The SoundPEATS PearlClip Pro review unit arrived in a white box featuring images of the earbuds and some details mentioned in Silver embossed text and design on the sides and back. The unit is a capsule design with rounded edges and flat sides on the front and back. The box opens from the top side, and inside, you will find a paper tray with the device, USB Type-C charging cable, and Quick Guide & User Manual.
SoundPEATS PearlClip Pro – Charging Case

I reviewed the unit in Shiny dark grey, but the brand calls it black, with the SoundPeats logo on the hinge of the top cover in the matte black plate. A silver button and a small LED light are in front of the case. There is a USB Type-C port on the backside of the charging case. The entire body is made of ABS plastic. The bottom side is not flat, so the case doesn’t stand upright. The PearlClip Pro case has a 350 mAh battery, which can fully charge the earbuds in 53 minutes and provide 24 hours of playtime.

The charging case can be charged with the USB Type-C cable and does not support wireless charging. It takes around 1 hour and 77 minutes to charge. Once you open the case cover, the device’s certification is printed on the inside. The case comes with magnetic pins, which keep the earbuds in place while charging. The front LED light provides the case’s charging battery level when closed and charged.
SoundPEATS PearlClip Pro – Earbuds

The SoundPEATS PearlClip Pro open-type earbuds are light and have an ergonomically shaped clip design that fits all ears. The clip is made from 70% skin-friendly liquid silicone, providing a soft and gentle touch on the skin. Inside, it incorporates a nickel-titanium memory wire, which offers flexibility and allows the clip to maintain its shape after repeated use. This combination of materials ensures durability while prioritizing user comfort. The earbuds are made with shiny black ABS plastic and liquid silicone. The earbud is divided into two parts: the speakers and the battery unit, which are made of ABS plastic. The earbuds are plain and have no branding, and the outer side has a shiny black look.

The speaker unit is almost round, with an inside liquid silicone finish that holds the grip on the ear canal and speaker grille on the outer side. The build quality feels solid, thanks to the earbuds’ combination of plastic, silicone and metal components. The PearlClip Pro Earbuds come with 12mm dual magnetic drivers (PU + nickel-plated diaphragm), which respond to 20Hz – 20 kHz frequency range. It supports audio codecs like HFP, A2DP and AVRCP. The earbuds have a 35 mAh battery each and provide 6 hours of playtime at 50% volume on a single charge and 18 hours with the recharging in the case. On a quick charge of 10mins, you get around 2 hours of playtime. The earbuds take around 53 minutes to charge from zero to 100% and weigh only 5.85 grams each. The earbuds are IPX5 rated, so you are not worried about dirt, sweat and water dropouts damaging the earbuds. The earbuds work on Bluetooth 5.4 version and provide a 10-meter range. You can use a single earbud or both.
Controls
The SoundPEATS PearlClip Pro touch controls are placed on the battery unit of the right and left earbuds. On both earbuds (right and left), you can control Play/Pause/Stop and answer/reject/ hold calls. It would help to use the right earbud to increase the volume and play the next song. Use the left earbud to lower the volume and change to the previous song. You can control it from the Peats Audio App on your smartphone for more features and equaliser settings.
Customisation – Peats Audio App

For those reading my review, you must first download the Peats Audio App from the Google Play Store or iOS store. Once you download the app, remove the earbuds from the charging case, go to your Bluetooth settings on your smartphone and search for “SoundPEATS PearlClip Pro”. Then, pair the earbuds and open the Peats Audio App; you will find the SoundPEATS PearlClip Pro earbuds ready to connect with your app. Once the app pairing is done, please check the settings for updates, and if there are any updates, please update the earbuds by following the instructions on the app. On the app, you will find the battery level of the earbuds, as well as the EQ and other modes. The app has a dedicated Equalizer Section, and you can customise your settings. It would help if you had both earbuds outside the case to see the EQ, or you would not be able to see it on your Peats Audio App.
Click on the top right setting to learn about the device information that has upgraded the firmware. The new addition to the App is the “Find Earbuds” feature, which allows you to locate your earbuds and hear a low chime sound. However, this wouldn’t help if the earbuds were lost or hidden from view and not audible outdoors. Also, the map and location ping for location didn’t work correctly.

Also, while testing the screen change from the home screen to the equalizer many times, there was quite a delay, and even if you wanted to change to another screen, it didn’t work. The SoundPeats team has to work on the Peats Audio App.
Microphone on voice and video calls

The SoundPEATS PearlClip Pro earbuds were tested for Google Meet video calls, and the quality of the brother’s voice was natural. Even my voice was verified as natural by my brother. The microphone effectively captures my voice, making conversations clearer during calls.
Sound Quality of SoundPEATS PearlClip Pro
The SoundPEATS PearlClip Pro earbuds have φ12mm dynamic drivers and a built-in microphone. The speaker system produces frequencies between 20Hz and 20kHz and supports HFP, A2DP, and AVRCP audio codecs.

The sound quality is clear, with good bass for open-type earbuds in the standard mode. The Peats Audio app also allows you to adjust the bass and treble to suit your preferences, enhancing the listening experience.
These open-type earbuds do not support ANC, and the Bass was excellent but not very deep, as with in-ear design earbuds.
Comfort

Comfort is critical for long listening sessions, and the SoundPEATS PearlClip Pro earbuds perform excellently. The well-ergonomically designed light earbuds weigh only 5.85 grams each, so doesn’t feel at all on the ears. As these are open-type designs, ear canals are not blocked, allowing air to flow in the ears easily. That way, these earbuds are perfect for long-term usage, especially for workouts and strenuous exercise, which can be indoors or outdoors. As these earbuds are held to the ear, they don’t fall from your ear and remain secure.
Price, Packaging, and Value

The SoundPEATS PearlClip Pro earbuds are priced at around AED 192. The packaging is top-notch and meets the standard of premium earbuds. Despite its affordable price point, it offers excellent sound quality, a solid build, and a range of valuable features. The package includes the SoundPEATS PearlClip Pro wireless Open-type earbuds with a charging case, a charging cable, a quick guide, and a user manual. Given the price and the performance, the SoundPEATS PearlClip Pro earbuds provide outstanding value for anyone looking for budget-friendly, open-type earbuds.
Conclusion

The SoundPEATS PearlClip Pro Wireless Open-Type Earbuds are an affordable, high-quality audio device that is IPX5-rated. The sound quality is excellent, and with the SoundPeats App, you can choose from preset equaliser settings and customise your preferences. Overall, it is a fantastic buy at an affordable price. It is lightweight and perfect for audio listeners, office use, and indoor and outdoor exercise.
