Usage of Kingston XS1000R Portable SSD?

People use electronic devices like smartphones, computers, PCs, and more in modern life. Consumers require additional external storage to save or backup data, which can be business or personal. Capturing images and videos has been consumers’ No. 1 storage method worldwide. Earlier, consumers had to save or back up on big hard drives or online storage like Google Drive. You can carry the newly designed storage devices in your pocket. Devices like Kingston XS1000R, which has 1 TB & 2 TB capacity, are available. With USB 3.2 Gen 2 speed, you can transfer data up to 1,050MB/s read and 1,000MB/s write speed.
Testing the Kingston XS1000R Portable SSD

The Kingston XS1000R worked directly with my Samsung S24 Ultra Smartphone. Using the USB Type-C to USB Type-A cable and adaptor USB-Type-A to USB Type-C pin, I could copy 14.6 GB of video or 368 files in less than 1 minute.
We used the Kingston XS1000R and the Kingston KC600 2048G SSD SATA3 2.5 Inch for testing speed, which is connected via a Laptop’s USB Type-C port. I could achieve a data transfer speed of 37.6 MB/s to 41.2 MB/s, and it took around 10 minutes for 16.8GB video files to transfer from Kingston XS1000R to my D drive – SSD SATA3 2.5 Inch. On reverse transfer back from SSD SATA3 2.5 Inch to Kingston XS1000R, it took me around 10 minutes with a speed of 26.9 MB/s to 27.7 MB/s.
Another test was done with Kingston XS1000R and SSD 512GB built-in drive. I could achieve a data transfer speed of 392 MB/s to 398 MB/s, and it took around 10 minutes for 16.8GB video files to transfer from Kingston XS1000R to my SSD 512GB built-in drive. On reverse transfer back from D drive – SSD SATA3 2.5 Inch to Kingston XS1000R, it took me around 10 minutes with a speed of 328 MB/s to 318 MB/s.
(Please note: The speed of data transfer may vary from laptop to laptop port speed too)
With this function, Kingston XS1000R is an excellent external drive for consumers with issues with their smartphone storage space. It allows you to copy and back up images, videos, and documents from your smartphone and free up space on your smartphone.
I have a powerful PC and laptop, and sometimes, I need to transfer data from the Laptop to the PC. Of course, there are different ways to connect the PC and laptop, such as wireless or wired options. But sometimes, you are not in the same room and must copy a few heavy files like 8K and 4K long videos. You could copy on the Kingston XS1000R and transfer the data from your laptop to your PC.
Conclusion

Overall, the Kingston XS1000R Portable SSD Type-C is light, fast, and excellent. The benchmark and manual transfer test results were entirely up to the mark mentioned on the packaging. The product’s price is quite competitive compared to similar drives available. It is the perfect product for videographers, photographers, and consumers who require a high-speed storage device.
(Please Note: If your laptop or desktop has a USB 3.2 Gen with a C port, you can fully utilise the SSD drive’s function and speed.)
