
Review of HP Elitebook x360 1040 G7 in the UAE

HP EliteBook is a line of business-oriented high-end notebooks and mobile workstations made by Hewlett-Packard (HP Inc.). The EliteBook series, which fits above the lower-end ProBook series, was introduced in August 2008 as a replacement for the HP Compaq high-end line of notebooks. The EliteBook brand included mobile workstations until September 2013, when they were rebranded as HP ZBook. The EliteBook mainly competes against computer lineups such as Acer’s TravelMate, Dell’s Latitude and Precision, Lenovo’s ThinkPad, and Toshiba’s Portégé and Tecra.
The 11th generation of EliteBook notebooks features Intel Comet Lake and AMD Zen 2 Renoir processors. New features introduced in this generation include 5G NR WWAN. Elitebook 805 series G7, 800 series G7, 1030 G7, and 1040 G7 were announced in May 2020.
I have received the HP Elitebook x360 1040 G7 a few months ago and had the chance to review the sleek, stylish, laptop.
The Review
Design and Specification

The HP Elitebook x360 1040 G7 comes with dimension of 31.93 x 20.27 x 1.65 cm weighing 1.32kg. It comes with screen of 35.56 cm (14.0 in) diagonal FHD IPS Ultraslim 2.0 mm eDP and PSR2 anti-glare touchscreen with 0.4 mm Gorilla Glass 5 with 400 nits with 1920 x 1080px resolution. The display supports resolutions up to 4K at 60 Hz via HDMI v1.4b
The laptop came with Windows 10 Pro for operating system with Intel Core i7-10710U Processor which can deliver 1.1 GHz, up to 4.7 GHz with Intel Turbo Boost technology with 12 MB cache, 6 cores. It has Intel UHD Graphics integrated on the motherboard.
As for the storage, it comes with a 512 GB PCIe NVMe Value SSD with 16GB RAM.
As Elitebook is designed for professionals and office executives, it comes with a spill-resistant, backlit keyboard and glass clickpad.
Convertibility

The HP Elitebook x360 1040 G7 comes with a 360degrees hinge which allows changing the HP Elitebook from laptop to tablet mode, also tent mode, and vertical mode too. With this, you look at the full functional options with touchscreen and use of stylus too.
You can draw, write and also drag and drop any files and images with your finger with the multi-touch function. With vertical mode, you can scroll websites and word files in a longer version with zoom options.
Connectivity
As for connectivity, you have multiple options: – connect with Wi-fi, Bluetooth, and ports which is perfect for the business laptop.

As for Wi-Fi, it has Intel Dual Band Wireless-AX201 802.11a/b/g/n/ac (2×2) Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5 Combo, vPro, and Intel XMM 7360 LTE-Advanced Cat 9.
For the power, it comes with HP Smart 65 W USB Type-C adapter, and the laptop comes with HP Long Life 4-cell, 78.6 Wh Li-ion polymer.
Audio & Camera

The HP Elitebook x360 1040 G7 comes the Bang & Olufsen’s four premium Stereo Speakers. It has multi-array microphones including two user-facing and two world-facing. It comes with a Hybrid 720p HD/IR camera with an integrated privacy shutter.
Stylus

The HP Elitebook x360 1040 G7 comes with a Stylus that can be used to draw, write and paint too. The stylus is magnetic too, so when you are not using you can place it on the left of the laptop and even while holding the laptop vertically. So it is like using the notebook with the pen attached and without worrying about losing the stylus.

The Stylus has a rechargeable battery; the stylus comes with a USB Type C port to charge it fast.
Conclusion
The HP Elitebook x360 1040 G7 is perfectly designed for a business laptop. There multiple options of configuration available to suit the business community from Intel Core i5-10210U Processor to Intel Core i7-10810U Processor, there are 5 variants available, and also goes same for the storage – 128 GB SDD to 1TB variants and memory from 8GB to 32 GB RAM.

The HP Elitebook x360 1040 G7 was tested under the PCMark 10 benchmark and scored 3337.

The 14inch laptop is sleek and lightweight, perfect for carrying in the suitcase to bag pack. Due to the pandemic, many of the business meetings are held online via virtual conference applications. The laptop comes with a Hybrid 720p HD/IR camera with an integrated privacy shutter.

So even you are working in a low light area IR will provide better imaging during the virtual interaction and of course, the audio is important, with Bang & Olufsen speakers and a multi-array of microphones, you are ready for your conversation. With a backlit keyboard, you have nothing to worry about typing the text in low light condition.

This particular review unit comes with HP Sure View integrated privacy system, so you can avoid prying eyes on your content while you are working in a public area.

And consumers, who like to interact with touch control, can use the multi-touch screen with fingers or use the stylus which is provided with the laptop.
