They focused on the HONOR 200 and HONOR 200 Pro smartphones in the grand lavish event in Dubai, UAE. They had invited partners, Media and influencers from across the Middle East. I had the opportunity to get the HONOR 200 Pro smartphone for review before the launch and I could test the device in my surroundings and also at the event.
Looks like HONOR wants to capture the Mid-range of smartphones with Flagship features of the HONOR 200 Pro phone that promises to deliver flagship-level performance without the flagship price tag. But does it live up to the hype? Read the below details.
Packaging
HONOR 200 Pro came in the usual white box with a simple brand logo and details mentioned on the box. Once you open the box, you will find the HONOR 200 Pro smartphone in a translucent white cover and below the device, you will find the 100-watt charger and USB Type-C cable with Warranty Card and Quick Start-up guide.
Specifications

The HONOR 200 Pro packs a serious punch. It’s powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, a slightly scaled-down version of the flagship 8 Gen 3. Don’t be fooled by the “s”; this chip is still a powerhouse, effortlessly handling everything from demanding games to resource-intensive apps. Whether you’re editing videos, multitasking, or simply browsing the web, the 200 Pro keeps up without breaking a sweat. To complement the processor, HONOR offers multiple configurations with up to 12GB of RAM and a generous 512GB of storage.
The HONOR 200 Pro comes with a dimension of 163.3 mm x 75.2 mm x 8.2 mm and weighs around 199 grams. It has a 6.78 size display and comes with a 19.85:9 ratio and with FHD+ 2700px x 1224px resolution.

The HONOR 200 Pro is a visual treat. Its sleek, glass back curves gracefully into the aluminum frame, exuding a premium feel. The phone fits comfortably in hand, and the weight distribution feels just right. HONOR has masterfully balanced style and ergonomics.
The display is a stunning AMOLED panel that stretches nearly edge to edge, interrupted only by a tiny punch-hole cut out for the selfie camera. It’s a feast for the eyes, with vibrant colours, deep blacks, and excellent viewing angles.
Camera

The Main Cameras

The second camera comes with a 50MP Telephoto lens with F/2.4 aperture with OIS. The third camera comes with a 12MP Ultra Wide lens with F/2.2 aperture.
The colours are accurate and pleasing to the eye, and the camera handles various lighting conditions with aplomb. While it might not quite match the low-light prowess of top-tier flagships, it certainly holds its own in most scenarios. The ultra-wide camera is a capable performer, capturing expansive scenes with minimal distortion. The third camera, a depth sensor, aids in portrait mode, producing images with a convincing Bokeh effect.

Testing the Main Cameras
I have clicked various modes from the camera app. Images were clicked during the day and evening, clicked with zoom, night shots and also used the HONOR 200 Pro camera during the launch event which happened in Dubai, UAE.

I was amazed with the quality of the images which included the digitally zoomed images. The camera app was also tested from a moving car at a speed of 100kmh and with the AI, the quality of the images improved with colour correction. The Aperture mode can range from F/1.4 to F/16. Under the Photo mode, you have an auto-capture mode which works with Ai to capture the best mode, especially moving objects or humans.
Under the portrait mode, you will find HDR Mode and interesting Hartcourt mode in which you have presets like Vibrant, Colour and Classic which is beautiful Black & White. And if you use studio light or understand lighting you can create amazing images. You get a 3072px x 4096px resolution image.

Display
The HONOR 200 Pro’s display is a standout feature. The AMOLED panel delivers exceptional colour accuracy, deep blacks, and vibrant visuals. Whether you’re watching movies, playing games, or simply scrolling through social media, the display is a joy to behold. It’s also bright enough to be easily visible in outdoor conditions.

Software

The HONOR 200 Pro runs on Magic UI 8.0, HONOR’s custom skin on top of Android 14. Magic UI offers a clean and intuitive interface with plenty of customization options.
