Samsung smart television "The Frame"
I was invited by Samsung for an event in Marina Home in Mall of Emirates, Dubai (UAE). In posh showroom, we were invited by Mr Haris Munif – Head of Product Marketing – Consumer Electronics Division, Samsung Gulf Electronics to see the beautiful work of artist and their work on walls of the showroom along the beautiful Samsung latest smart television “The Frame”. Each of the artist had their own style which was showcased on canvas and also in the “The Frame” Samsung smart television.
The Artist and their work with “The Frame”
The artists who showcased their beautiful work along the Samsung Smart Television “the Frame” are Saggaf Abdillah Alhashmi, Johan Alberts, Donell Gumiran and Shadab Khan.
- Saggaf Abdillah Alhashmi : He is a self- taught artist who is loves the Arabian horses which can be seen in his work. I was amazed by his work on the horses and loved his black& white painting of Your Highness Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
- Johan Alberts: Lovely brush strokes and portrait of South African woman on his canvas will keep you mesmerized to look into the picture for more. He is taught at the National School of Arts in South Africa and since 2016 full time artist working in Pretoria (Nairobi) and Dubai (UAE).
- Donell Gumiran: He is Design Director at MOB Agency and his passion for photography can be seen in his photographs which he showcased at the venue. His images tell a story in a single photograph and has received various awards in UAE.
- Shadab Khan : She is a well known Indian Artist staying in Dubai (UAE) and from her childhood, she got inspired by nature and it’s beauty. Her painting has lot vibrant colors and contrast which attracts you towards the canvas and keep looking for the detailing in the painting. She has supported charity work by auctioning her paints and her artwork was chosen for Cyde & Co Mena Art Awards 2017.
What is “the Frame”?
It is the Samsung latest smart television with a thin bezel and wooden looks frame around the bezel which gives a beautiful ascetic looks when the television is mounted on the wall. So when you are not using the television and there is option “Art mode” is on the painting or photographs come on the screen and gives looks of picture frame installed in your home.
Art Mode: Instead of fading to black like a conventional TV, the Lifestyle TV’s display transforms into a work of art, letting the users select custom-designed digital art pieces from The Frame. With more than 100 art pieces in 10 different categories – including landscape, architecture, wildlife, action, drawing and more – to choose from, it is sure to please every design preference. Paired with the numerous options for art layouts and colors, as well as customizable accessory options including interchangeable bezels and an optional Studio Stand, it truly complements the user’s living space.
The Frame is a full-featured 4K UHD resolution (HDR) that delivers outstanding detail and picture quality with four-times the resolution of a standard full HD TV.
One Connect: (invisible connection – 5m) Optical Fiber which help to reduce the gap between the panel and the wall. All the connection like the HDMI, USB, etc are in separate box (Smart Hub) which can be hidden inside your cabinet.
Color options: The Frame series has 55” and 65” for this market and you can option to have 3 different colors (Walnut, Oak and White) of changeable frames to suit to your wall. When you buy “The Frame” it comes with one frame and you need to buy the other two as additional accessories.
The Frame has all the functions of the latest Samsung smart television like smart remote control, smart view, Wireless Lan built in Bluetooth.
Brightness Sensor: The Frame intelligently adjusts brightness and color as ambient lighting conditions change for an optimal viewing experience, bringing an extra sense of art realism to your space all day long.
Motion Sensor*: The Frame automatically turns off to save power when you leave the room and turns on when you return.(* Motion sensor operates when The Frame is in Art Mode. Actual results may differ depending on lighting conditions)
Exclusive collection of curated art: The Frame comes with the Samsung Collection, an exclusive, professionally-curated collection of 100 works of art from 37 renowned artists spanning 10 genres. You’ll find stunning photography, paintings, drawings, and digital works selected to complement a wide variety of tastes and decors. Also you can add your own collection of photograph to the screen.
The Frame is available across all major retailers in the UAE from the 17th August 2017 onwards. The 55-inch and 65-inch models of The Frame TV are priced at AED 6,999 and AED 10,999 respectively.
