As per Wikipedia, realme is a Chinese consumer electronics manufacturer based in Shenzhen, Guangdong. It was founded by Li Bingzhong (known as Sky Li) on May 4, 2018, as the former vice president of Oppo. Starting originally as a sub-brand of Oppo, Realme eventually ventured as its own brand. Realme then became the fastest-growing 5G smartphone brand in Q3 2021 with an 831% growth rate.
On 9th Jan 2023, realme launched the 10 series of smartphones for the UAE market. The two devices which were released for the UAE market were realme 10 pro+ and realme 10 smartphones.
We received the 2 devices for review – realme 10 pro+ (5G) & realme 10. Let us now talk the realme 10 Pro+ (5G)
The Review
The realme 10 pro+ (5G) came in a chaud yellow with the black colour package. The text is printed in black, and the box has a sunrays design which is shown with plastic embossing. The realme 10 pro+ (5G) box had bold and big text mentioning the type of the mobile and the bottom box had the details and features of the mobile.

The realme 10 pro+ (5G) (Model – RMX3686) smartphone has a dimension of 161.5 x 73.9 x 7.95 mm and it weighs 174.5 grams which include a non-removal battery. It has an AMOLED 120Hz capacitive touchscreen (800 nits) and a size of 6.70 inches with a resolution of 1080 x 2412 pixels with a screen ~394 ppi density. It has an ~90.5% screen-to-body ratio and a resolution of 20:9 ratio. The body build has a plastic back and matt black aluminum frame with the front Curved AMOLED display and the back panel comes with a colour called Hyperspace design.
The realme 10 pro+ (5G) smartphone has Android 13 as the operating system and the realme UI 4.0 as the user interface. It uses Mediatek MT6877V Dimensity 1080 (6 nm) + (GPU) Mali-G68 MC4 with 8GB RAM + 4 GB (RAM expansion) and 256 GB ROM internal storage for the UAE market.
It comes with Triple cameras on the rear 108 MP + 8 MP + 2 MP. The front round in-screen camera has a 16 MP lens embedded into the display. The cameras are arranged on the right side on two circular discs that jute out of the body frame of the back panel. The top circular camera has 108 MP, f/1.8, 24mm (wide), 1/1.67″, 0.64µm, and PDAF. The second round disc has the 8 MP, f/2.2, 16mm, 112˚ (ultrawide) & 2 MP, f/2.4, (macro) lens. The LED light is centrally aligned to the two circular discs.
The main camera can shoot video at 4K@30fps, 1080p@30/60/120/480fps, 720p@960fps, and gyro-EIS and the front camera can shoot video at 1080p@30fps. realme 10 pro+ (5G)) smartphone features Dual-LED flash, HDR, and panorama.
The realme 10 pro+ (5G) frame is thin as the display and back panel edges are curved to make the body very sleek and thin. The right side of the frame has the power button and volume rockers and the left-hand side is clean with no buttons or controls. realme word is on the back panel on the lower side in silver mirror finish.
The fingerprint sensor is enabled in the AMOLED display. The phone has a Dual SIM (2 Nano SIMs, 5G + 5G) Card slot which has. The phone supports GPS (L1+L5), GALILEO, GLONASS, BDS, and QZSS. The bottom side of the phone has the dual SIM Tray, USB Type- C super-charge (67W) input, speaker grills and mic and the top side is clean with a single mic and thin ear speaker.
The realme 10 pro+ (5G) features 2160Hz PWM dimming technology and is the first OLED phone in the industry to receive the TÜV Rheinland Flicker Free Certificate. The 10 Pro+ 5G also supports hardware low blue light, for an added layer of eye protection.
With the HDR+ certification, 5,000,000:1 contrast ratio and HyperVision mode, the image and video quality produced on the screen is vibrant and colourful.
As for the protection of the display and durability, the realme 10 Pro+ 5G incorporates 0.65mm double-reinforced glass, making it durable enough to pass the stringent TTF 1.5m drop test and 28,000 micro drop tests.
Cameras of realme 10 pro+ (5G)
The realme 10 pro+ (5G) smartphone has triple cameras which include a 108MP camera. The image produced is 12000 x 9000 pixels. This is possible with 9-in-1 pixel binning and with smart-ISO Pro which improves dynamic range.
For testing the camera, I have clicked images Day and night and even in low light. The camera worked better than expected.
The images looked natural and certain images of plants could see the additional support of AI and increasing the contrast ratio to make the image look vibrant and popping, especially the night shot clicked as LAST EXIT.
Power, Storage & Battery of realme 10 pro+ (5G)
Let us talk about power and battery. The realme 10 pro+ (5G) comes with Mediatek MT6877V Dimensity 1080 (6 nm) + (GPU) Mali-G68 MC4 with 8GB RAM + 4 GB (RAM expansion) and 256 GB ROM internal storage. The phone has Andiroid 13 OS. It has a 5000mAh battery with which the smartphone battery can last for more than a day with a single charge which includes gaming, web-surfacing, social media, entertainment and a lot more. The battery can be charged with 80 Watt SUPERVOOC charging Adapter which is provided in the box with a UBS Type-C cable.
The realme UI 4.0 has a real design of 30+ icons in a card-styled layout. It has a real Safe by which you can keep certain files or discussions private with Advanced Encryption Standard (AES). Real Fun is smart Always-On Display with a large folder for better viewing. And this could be possible due to the Dynamic Computing Engine and Quantum Animation Engine 4.0. Now you can have Virtual Avatar with 79 facial features, allowing you to express yourself. With real Fun, you can have smart Music AOD by which you can have your favourite playlist on Spotify without even unlocking your screen. Also, you can just double tap the Always-On Display and the AOD helps to turn the Music Player into an interactive panel with additional controls. The realme 10 pro+ (5G) supports Multi Screen Connect which can work with realme tablets and compatible PC.
As for the safety of sharing chats and screenshots, the realme 10 pro+ (5G) has Auto Pixelate by which you automatically pixelate your personal information with just a single click.
Benchmark
The realme 10 pro+ (5G) was tested on various benchmark apps. The PCMark benchmark test result is 8709. The GFX result – Aztec Ruins OpenGL (High Tier) 2184 x 1080 – 1058 frames (16FPS) and 4K Aztec Ruins Vulkan (High Tier) off-screen – 298.3 frames (4.5FPS). Al Benchmark – 127.2.
The 3Dmark Benchmark result – Wild Life Extreme Stress Test – 636 (Best Loop Score) & 633 (lowest Loop Score), Sling Shot Extreme – 3975 (OpenGL ES 3.1), Wild Life – 2292. Geekbenchmark – 816 (Single-Core Score) & 2347 (Multi-Core Score).
As for the Gaming, Asphalt 9 gaming app was used for testing and there was no buffer or lagging while playing the game.
Conclusion of realme 10 pro+ (5G)
Overall, the realme 10 pro+ (5G) smartphone performed well and was satisfied with the performance for the price. The phone has dual Stereo speakers with Hi-res (aptX HD) audio support. The phone comes with Bluetooth 5.2, A2DP and LE. It has got Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/6, dual-band. The in-display FingerPrint Scanner is quite responsive and fast.
The price of realme 10 pro+ (5G) in UAE from an online portal is AED 1199. There are three colours available – Hyperspace, Dark Matter and Nebula Blue. The phone box contains comes with realme 10 Pro+, 80W Adapter, USB Type-C Cable, Important Product Information (Including the Warranty Card), Quick Guide, SIM Card Needle and Protect Case.
