Since 2016, HMD Global has been marketing Nokia products. The company has launched various mobile devices including the iconic Nokia 3310 which completed its 5th Anniversary. Recently HMD Global launched a series of devices like X 20 and XR 20 which is one of the most popular military-grade smartphones.
The PR agency sent us the recently launched Nokia T20 Tablet which is part of the ecosystem which HMD Global is creating with smartphones and other devices.
Design and Specifications – Nokia T20 (Model TA-1392)

The Nokia T20 comes with a dimension of 247.6mm (L) x 157.5 mm (W) x 7.8mm (H) and weighs 465 g. It comes in Ocean Blue color and comes with a size of 10.4 inches display. It has resolution of 1200px x 2000px and brightness of 400 nits.

It has a single-lens 5MP fixed focus front camera and an 8MP autofocus rear camera with LED light.
It has an 8200mAh battery and for charging it comes with USB-PD Type-C charging port and is compatible with fast charging up to 15 watts. The package comes with a 10-watts charger.

It comes with 32GB built-in storage (ROM) with 3GB RAM and has a micro-SD slot that is compatible with 512GB storage.

The Nokia T20 comes with Android 11 OS with 2 years of guaranteed upgrades.
As for the connectivity, the Nokia T20 has a Wi-Fi dual-band supporting 2.4GHz and 5GHz.
It has got a 3.5mm Headphone jack port and USB Type C (USB 2.0) and GPS/AGPS for location.
It supports most of the network bands – GSM, LTE, and WCDMA.

The Nokia T20 has stereo speakers with a built-in amplifier and can use FM radio with headphones. It has OZO Audio for capture and playback. It has built-in 2 microphones in the tablet to capture the audio required for video /audio chat.
The Nokia T20 comes with IP52 protection, so the tablet is protected from sudden falls and splashes of water. It also has Android Enterprise Recommendation (AER).
The Nokia T20 comes with G-sensor, Ambient light sensor and, Hall sensor.

The Nokia T20 Tablet came in a white matt finish packaging with the 4 color T20 tablet image on the cover with the Nokia logo and Android logo on the top. The back of the package has the details of the device including the features of the product.

Once you open the box, the Nokia T20 is wrapped in a translucent plastic covering. Below the tablet, you will find the Nokia T20 start-up guide with a warranty and other documents. There is also a USB Type Cable and charging adapter. The package also comes with a SIM ejector tool.

The power button is on the top left just above the speaker. On the top, you have the volume rockers, two microphones, and SIM / MicroSD tray. The right side has the other speaker and USB Type C charging/data transfer port. This is 1st time I have seen the 3.5mm Headphone jack port on the right side corner of the tablet.
The back panel which is a kind of ABS plastic has the single 8Mp autofocus rear camera lens with LED light jutting out from the panel. The tablets have got rounded edges which helps to protect the device from sudden falls.

The front is 10.4 inches display with a black frame around the display with a single lens 5MP fixed focus front camera.
Once you switch on the tablet, connect with Wi-Fi, the tablet will be required to install the latest update.
After the update, you will need to add a google account to activate the tablet. For security, you will need to add a 4-digit pin and you have the option to add Face unlock to the tablet. If this tablet going to be part of your Android ecosystem, you can copy data from another device and as well as add this device to your personal account with google drive. This way you can work on the documents or files and store them online to be accessed on another device like a phone or desktop.
When the tablet is fully updated, you will find all the required basic apps already present on the tablet and if you are using it as part of the ecosystem then you will have access to additional apps or bookmarks.
You have google assistant by which you can use voice commands to get your job done. The tablet also came along with the Kids space app which would perfect children.

The touch screen is very responsive and the transition between the apps is quite quick.
The display is clear and you get 2K resolution. For testing played some 4K UHD videos, quality was good but wish this was an AMOLED or OLED screen.
For testing the dual speakers, used some FLAC, 320 kps, and generic YouTube videos. The sound is quite loud for personal space. The trebles and mids are clear but lack low rumbles and bass. The stereo speaker effect could be felt while holding the tablet horizontally. When you hold the tablet vertically, you will feel or get mono audio from both speakers.

The Nokia T20 tablet comes with an 8200mAh battery which can last long for more than 1 day on continuous video play. The tablet comes with a dual microphone which is placed on the top while you hold the tablet horizontally. The audio is captured in stereo and due to dual mics, it captures better audio quality compared to a single mic.
As for the benchmark testing, we got a score of 7728 on PC Mark, on 3Dmark, it scored 527, and on the Geek bench, it scored 347 single-core and 1250 on multi-core. While playing on Asphalt 9 racing game, the graphics were smooth and the sound effect was great.

The Nokia T20 tablet is priced at AED820 in the UAE. Overall, the Nokia T20 tablet is a good buy for the price and the perfect companion for students and professionals. As it has Android Enterprise Recommendation (AER) which can help with business and security.
