Introduction
BenQ’s journey in the monitor space reflects its strong focus on visual accuracy, user comfort, and professional creativity. BenQ began manufacturing LCD monitors in 1997. At that time, the company was part of Acer’s peripherals division. They debuted their first LCD screen product. BenQ began with early LCD displays and prioritized colour science and eye-care technologies for long working hours. The brand steadily evolved its monitors for designers, photographers, and content creators worldwide. With every new generation, BenQ refined calibration standards, panel quality, and connectivity options.
The PD series clearly demonstrates BenQ’s commitment to professional workflows and colour-critical tasks. The latest BenQ PD2730S signifies this evolution perfectly. It delivers a 5K resolution, factory-calibrated colour accuracy, and modern Thunderbolt connectivity. This monitor highlights BenQ’s maturity in creating precision-focused displays for creative professionals.
The Review
I received the BenQ PD2730S and the BenQ Screenbar Halo2 from the company via PR Agency. I had both the products for more than a month.

Packaging

BenQ has been using sustainable, eco-friendly packaging since 2018. They redesigned cartons to use up to 80% recycled paper. They also significantly reduced ink use in packaging across their products, including monitors.
I received the BenQ PD2730S monitor in a strong, sturdy brown cardboard box with two colours: black and white. The partitions are created using cardboard folds. Once you open the box, you will find the envelope stuck to the box. This contains a printed calibration report.
The box contains the BenQ PD2730S screen, adjustable stand, QSG, Warranty Card, Calibration Report, Safety Instruction, Hotkey Puck G3, HDMI (v2.1) and power cable. The BenQ PD2730S shipping dimension are 19.00 cm x 72.00 cm x 57.00 cm and weighs 12.6kg.

My Experience – BenQ PD2730S (5K) Screen

I have used and reviewed the BenQ PD2730S monitor for more than a month. It was used for video and photo editing, and for multitasking across multiple windows. The BenQ “PD” series is specially designed for creative people. The BenQ PD2730S features 5K resolution at 218 pixels per inch. This resolution is excellent for viewing the tiniest details on the screen. The monitor also comes with 98% P3 colour space coverage, a contrast ratio of 2000:1, and support for software calibration. With the Palette Master Ultimate, you can effortlessly calibrate to your requirements.
I have used the BenQ PD2730S screen with daisy chain with another brand display. I have kept the BenQ PD2730S screen for final colour checking, calibration, and editing. I have tested the display with my laptop and with my powerful desktop machine. With my desktop setup, I achieve 4K resolution. Honestly, it was more than enough for my work.
Versatile Stand – Compact and sleek

The BenQ PD2730S screen’s VESA Stand is akin to all BenQ monitors. The display stand can lift the height by 150mm. Thanks to the stand design, I easily turn the screen from horizontal to vertical position. So when I wanted to view the final vertical video output, I see it in full-screen resolution. The stand weighs 2.7kg. It features a stable design with a simple flat base and a round vertical stand rod. The matte finish is suitable for use in all office and home backgrounds.
Control – BenQ PD2730S
The BenQ PD2730S is easy to control, with buttons on the right and bottom sides that include entry and more. This monitor is different from other screens because of the Hotkey puck G3 control. It features Display Pilot 2 sync. This wireless controller is very convenient. It is especially useful when you are editing images. You can easily switch between RGB colour and monochrome. You can assign the hotkey buttons to your requirements with the screen software. The puck G3 has a rotating dial for brightness and contrast control.

In addition to colour mode, you can use it for Input, DualView, KVM, or app launch. But I tested only for colour and volume control. As I don’t have a Mac or any Apple product, I couldn’t do the test for KVM and dual view. But the BenQ says it will work with Mac and Windows on the same screen. You can transfer files directly by drag-and-drop.
Price & Availability

The BenQ PD2730S was launched last year and is available across the Middle East through BenQ retailers and e-commerce websites. It is available for AED 4,799 on Amazon.ae. Currently, there are some offers on Amazon.ae that are cheaper than the one at the above link. Look forward to special offers from BenQ.
Conclusion

The BenQ PD2730S is an excellent screen that provides 5K resolution, 100% Rec.709, and 98% P3 colour coverage, making it perfect for creative people. It’s perfect for photo and video editing. You can use it on Mac and Windows systems. With KVM and DualView support, you can connect them to one screen. And the Hotkey puck G3 is a great accessory for the creative person, making life easier.

My only suggestion to BenQ concerns the Hotkey puck G3’s top screen. It should be changed from a glossy to a matte finish. Alternatively, an anti-finger mark layer can be added.
