I have received the latest MG GT for review from IEM and had the car for the weekend. I took the car for the review and drove from Dubai to Abu Dhabi and back for a long test drive and, try out all the features of the car.
About the Brand MG
In 1920, William Morris, Oxford and later joined by Cecil Kimber started the company and Morris Garage which in short is known as MG. M.G. Car Company Limited was a British sports car manufacturer. It was known for best for its open two-seater sports cars, later, MG also produced saloons and coupés, with engines size up to three liters. And now, it is owned by state-owned Chinese company SAIC Motor Corporation Limited. MG MOTOR joined hands with Inter Emirates Motors LLC a subsidiary of Ali & Sons Holding LLC. Also known as IEM for the UAE Market. They have opened showrooms in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaimah, Sharjah, and Fujairah, and more are planned to come up in near future.

The MG GT was inspired by the 1962 MGB GT. The 2022 MG GT is a coupé-like but a sedan, that, embraces MG’s latest design ethos. The MG GT comes with the dimension of 4.675 x 1.842 x 1.480 meters.
The all-new MG GT comes with a Shark-hunting front end with narrow headlights fitted on either side of the digital flame grille. The vehicle also boasts a wide stance and silhouette of a fastback. The aerodynamic, flowing body lines, create a visually stunning vehicle. At the rear of the car, you have the 3D LED race track tail lamps. The finishing touch, the overall look, has a palette of bold youthful paint that is inspired by the original MG GT Nuclear Yellow paint. It also comes with two-tone 17inches rims alloy wheels.
The MG GT is available in 5 colors – Yellow, Red, White, Grey, and Black.
The MG GT comes 1.5 Turbo DCT model which produces 173HP at 5600rpm and 250 Newton meter maximum torque at 3,000 – 4000 rpm. With a seven-speed DCT gearbox that can achieve a fuel economy of 5.9 for 100km and reach 0-100 km/h in 8.5 secs. The 1.5 Turbo car comes with 50 liters fuel tank. As for the storage, it has 401 liters of trunk space and has a ground clearance of 145mm. The car can reach a maximum speed of 215 km/h.
The 2022 MG GT comes with the latest technological advancements for the sedan. It has an advanced Air Purifying Management system which filters out the dust and pollen, by which, you get circulating fresh clean air in the cabin.
It has a 10-inch-high definition touchscreen infotainment system with Apple Car Play and Android Auto. It comes with Auto Cruise control which is a separate lever on the left-hand side of the steering wheel. The car comes with keyless entry and push-button start and paddle shift for the drivers who like to have manual shifting gear for driving.
For the Car lights, it has an LED Automatic Headlight, LED Daytime Running Lights. LED Brake Lights, LED tail lights Rear View Mirror Defogging, Anti-pinch power windows, Electric Adjustable Rearview Mirrors with folding capacity.
The steering wheel has a leather cover for better hand grip and it has 2 sets of button controls. It has MG Logo on the center which also has got driver safety airbag, horn.
In the center driving console, you have the 10-inch touch screen display and below you have the 7 button which includes Fan temperature, airflow, switch ON/OFF button, Home and volume. and below the set of buttons, you have an Emergency blinker button between the air vents.
The below the emergency blinker you have 2 sets of USB TYPE A ports and 12 Volt electrical ports. It also has space to keep you mobile or small things. The automatic gear can be changed to a manual drive too. And you have electronic parking braking and a hill-hold button.

Safety
The MG GT comes with a high-density steel cage body, side chest airbags, Forward Collision Warning System, Hill Hold side curtain airbags, driver and front passenger airbags, blind-spot monitoring, Seat belt warning, 3 point seat belt for the rear seating, rear-seat child ISOFIX Assist and a 360-degree camera. The 360degree camera comes very useful while parking or exiting from the parking spot. It also has an electric parking brake and tire pressure monitoring system and different driving modes as per the driver’s choice.
As for the interiors, the seats are integrated sports seats made of leather fabric material with a red touch, the driver seating position can be changed electronically.
The interior has a black finish with red lining, a front armrest with storage, overhead glass case. It has a button-operated sunroof for the people who love to see the sky and get fresh air driving around the countryside.

Overall Experience
It was fun to drive the MG GT which was provided by IEM. The car was great to drive; the technology feature was amazing. The Forward Collision Warning System, Lane Departure Warning System was so helpful and safe while driving the car on cruise control. The fuel average with speed was good. The 1.5L Turbo engine had a quick response and didn’t feel rollovers during the turns.
The looks, styling, and color yellow were so amazing. This is my 1st ride of MG car and I was satisfied with the performance, styling, and features. I would suggest buyers looking to purchase a sleek, stylish car with bright yellow and who want to get notices, should have a test drive of this beautiful MG GT car.
