Introduction
In the UAE and the Middle East, OPPO has earned strong trust by consistently offering smartphones that blend advanced performance, sleek aesthetics, and reliable functionality for modern lifestyles.
Thanks to OPPO Middle East and the PR team, I received the new OPPO A6 Pro (5G) for review. It’s a rugged, battery-first midrange device designed for long days and rough environments.
This model delivers extended battery life, a vivid display, and durable construction—making it ideal for practical buyers who value performance and endurance.
The Review
The review unit I received came in Rosewood Red, packed in OPPO’s signature white box with silver and black text. Inside, everything followed OPPO’s minimalist yet premium packaging design.
Design and Specification
OPPO A6 Pro (5G) shape and design are quite modernised, yet the crimson-tinted back showcases subtle petal-vein textures beneath silver sputtering, symbolising “energy in bloom” as described by OPPO.
Design

The OPPO A6 Pro (5G) measures 158.2 × 75.02 × 8.00 mm and weighs 185 grams. It features a vibrant AMOLED display with ultra-thin bezels for an immersive visual experience.
The frame and back panel are crafted from reinforced plastic with a matte finish for grip and resilience.
The result is a vintage-inspired, velvet-smooth finish that feels both elegant and natural.
The phone features IP69/IP68 water and dust resistance and military-grade shock protection, ensuring durability even in tough conditions.
Hardware Specifications

The OPPO A6 Pro (5G) is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset paired with a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU.
It runs on Android 15 with ColorOS 15, ensuring smooth performance and customization.
The phone offers 256GB ROM and 8GB RAM, expandable with 8GB Turbo RAM for efficient multitasking.

Its 6.57-inch AMOLED display supports a 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate.
It offers FHD+ 2372 × 1080 resolution, a 93% screen-to-body ratio, and vivid color reproduction with 100% DCI-P3 and 100% sRGB coverage.

The screen brightness peaks at 600 nits with 397 PPI, ensuring clarity under sunlight.
Protected by AGC DT-Star D+ glass, the screen resists scratches and pressure while surviving brief underwater exposure.
Its protection performance is similar to the OPPO Reno 14 F (5G), which I reviewed earlier.
Testing the Cameras
OPPO A6 Pro (5G) comes with a main dual camera and a single front camera lens. The camera was tested during the daylight, evening and night. And for the IP69 rating, I tested the smartphone while swimming in the pool and did some underwater photography too.
Main Camera

The A6 Pro features a 50MP main sensor (f/1.8, FOV 76°) with PDAF, HDR, and Panorama modes.
It also includes a 2MP monochrome lens (f/2.4, FOV 89°) to enhance color contrast and create detailed B&W images.
The main camera delivers sharp images with excellent color calibration powered by AI.
It handles daylight scenes beautifully with balanced saturation, brightness, and vibrancy.
The dual 50MP sensors capture crisp, low-light, and fast-motion shots with commendable depth and color accuracy.
In dim conditions, the dual-flash system enhances brightness significantly, producing realistic lighting and natural skin tones.
The camera app offers multiple modes: Photo, Video, Portrait, Night, Panorama, SLO-MO, Dual-View Video, Time-Lapse, Sticker, Hi-Res, Google Lens, Underwater, Pro, and Document Scanner.
Under very low light, some noise was visible, but daylight results were impressive for this price range.
The digital zoom is limited compared to the Reno 14 F, but overall performance remains satisfactory.
Front Camera

The front camera uses a 16MP sensor (f/2.4, FOV 85°), optimized for natural, well-lit selfies.
It provides sharp, clear details with accurate skin tones and good background depth.
The autofocus ensures facial clarity, even during movement, and the screen’s fill light enhances low-light selfies.
For vloggers, it records 1080p videos at 30fps, maintaining steady and natural footage.
The camera supports Photo, Portrait, Night, Panorama, Dual-View Video, Time-Lapse, Sticker, Screen Fill Light, and Hi-Res modes.
Overall, it balances hardware and software well, providing an intuitive selfie experience.
OPPO A6 Pro is IP69 Rated
Like the Reno14 Series, the OPPO A6 Pro holds an IP69 rating, allowing underwater use. ColorOS 15 includes a dedicated “Underwater Mode” within the camera app under the “More” section. With this enabled, users can dive up to 8–10 meters without worrying about damage.
I personally tested it underwater for over 30 minutes in a swimming pool without issues. When underwater mode activates, an on-screen indicator appears with button instructions. The upper volume rocker captures photos, while the lower button records videos. The power button functions as a stop control.
Holding the power button for five seconds exits underwater mode, and the speaker grill vibrates to eject residual water.

You can record Full HD videos with audio underwater, although the selfie mode is unavailable.
Image quality underwater was quite good, though it requires steady hand positioning due to limited light exposure.
OPPO A6 Pro Benchmark

The OPPO A6 Pro achieved solid benchmark scores: PC Mark Work 3.0 – 10009, 3D Mark Wild Life – 1362, Device AI Score – 224, Geekbench 6 CPU (Single-Core) – 788, Geekbench 6 CPU (Multi-Core) – 1998
These results highlight reliable mid-ranger performance suitable for gaming, multitasking, and productivity.
Price and Availability

The OPPO A6 Pro (5G) is priced at AED 1099 in the UAE. It’s available through RightBuyNow and other major retailers and e-commerce platforms. Consumers can choose between Rosewood Red and Stellar Blue color options.
Buyers receive free OPPO Care screen protection, a 1-year liquid protection plan, and P10 wireless headphones as part of the package.
Conclusion
The OPPO A6 Pro (5G) is an excellent smartphone with an IP69 waterproof certification, allowing for underwater photography and video recording. It feels sturdy, well-built, and designed to handle demanding conditions.
The cameras offer good daylight performance with accurate colour presentation, though low-light shots show mild noise. The 6500mAh battery lasts over a day and a half with heavy use, while 256GB storage and expandable memory meet daily needs.
The cooling system prevents overheating in the UAE’s warm climate, ensuring stable performance.
Overall, this smartphone suits adventurous, budget-conscious buyers seeking durability, style, and long-lasting battery life. For its price, the OPPO A6 Pro (5G) offers a compelling combination of toughness, performance, and everyday practicality.
