Lenovo announced its latest stylish and gaming laptops coming to the UAE market: The Lenovo Legion 5 and 5 Pro, and the Lenovo Legion 7 and Slim 7.
I have received the Lenovo Legion Slim 7 laptop for review from the PR agency. The review was conducted over 2 weeks.
The Review

Lenovo Legion Slim 7 (S7 16IAH7) laptop comes with a dimension of 357.7 x 260 x 16.9 mm and around 2.175kg weight. The top and rear body of the laptop have a Storm Grey colour metallic matt finish and the chassis is made of shiny metallic aluminum.



The laptop comes with a 178° hinge. The body comes with a thin 18mm profile. The laptop comes with a 16″ WQXGA IPS gaming display. It has a body-to-screen ratio of 16:10 and a 2560 x 1600pixels resolution gaming display. It has a 1200:1 contrast ratio and comes with an Antiglare display.

Supported by NVIDIA G-Sync and featuring 34% increased pixel density Dolby Vision and VESA DisplayHDR 400, powering up-to-165Hz refresh rates and 3ms response times. It has TÜV Low Blue Light, TÜV High Gaming performance, DC dimmer and advanced Optimus.
Talking about the power and specs, the laptop comes with the 12ᵗʰ Gen Intel Core i7-12700H Processor with 2.30GH on Intel SoC (System on Chip) platform.
And overall the Lenovo Legion Slim 7 laptop comes with Windows 11 Home 64 edition as Operating System. The laptop comes with RTX3040 GPU which helps in advanced Optimus, Resizable BAR, Dynamic Boost 2.0, VR ready and DirectX 12 Ultimate

The laptop comes with 6-row, spill-resistant, multimedia Fn keys, numeric keypad, and switchable keycaps with backlighting.
As for the storage, it comes with a single 1TB (M.2 2280) SSD drive and comes with 16GB RAM.
As for the charging of the device, the laptop has an Integrated Li-Polymer 71Wh battery and supports Rapid Charge Pro (charge up to 50% in 30min). It can play 1080p video for 7.8 hours.

The device comes with a webcam 720P which can click 1080 x 720pixel images and 19:10 ratios with an E-camera shutter and fixed focus.
As for the connective, the Lenovo Legion Slim 7 comes with Wi-Fi 6, 802.11ax 2×2 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 5.2, M.2 card, Intel Killer Wi-Fi 6E AX1675i, 802.11ax 2×2 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 5.2, M.2 Card.

Lenovo Legion Slim 7 laptop has multiple ports and is designed beautifully using the full chassis design. On left side has two USB Type C ports. The right side comes with Headphone /microphone combo jack (3.5mm), camera shutter On/Off switch and MicroSD card reader. And on the back side of the laptop has most of the important ports, it has got Thunderbolt 4 / USB4 40Gbps (support data transfer, Power Delivery 135W and DisplayPort 1.4), HDMI, up to 8K/60Hz, USB 3.2 Gen 1 (Always On), USB 3.2 Gen 2 and USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 (support data transfer, Power Delivery 135W and DisplayPort 1.4).

The laptop comes with a 230Watt AC Adapter with the cable to power the computer. The laptop comes with High Definition (HD) Audio, Realtek ALC3306 codec and comes Stereo speakers, 2W x2, audio has certification by HARMAN and optimized with Nahimic Audio. It has a dual array of microphones.

When you boot up the laptop, I had the usual process of updating Windows OS and later downloaded the latest updates of windows which included Lenovo Legion software update which later gave 4 options to set up the laptop from general usage, gaming, network performance and CPU Overlocking. The new update also adds Lenovo Legion Gaming Shop to the laptop and can download the games.
Benchmark

The Lenovo Legion Slim 7 laptop was tested with 3 different hard drive benchmark tests. As the 12ᵗʰ Gen Intel Core i7-12700H Processor with 2.30GH with 1TB M.2 2280 SSD and 16GB RAM. The hard drive comes with a single C drive. ATTO Disk Benchmark result with 16GB data. CrystalDiskMark Benchmark result with file size 64GiB.
Conclusion

The Lenovo Legion Slim 7 laptop is powerful and perfectly designed for personal, business and gaming laptops. Multiple configuration options are available to suit different usage from 12ᵗʰ Gen Intel Processor and NVIDIA G-Sync.
The 16inch laptop has a sleek design and is perfect for carrying in a suitcase to bag pack. Since the pandemic, many meetings are held online via virtual conference applications. The laptop comes with a 720p camera.

The power button also doubles as a fingerprint sensor, so this added protection for the user. Also, the computer has a card reader which is the perfect port for photographers and content creators. The audio is essential, with 2 speakers and dual array microphones you are ready for your conversation. You cannot worry about typing the text in low light conditions with a backlit keyboard. The sound quality of the stereo speakers is good of the lack of low bass. But the Mids. and treble is good. As for the screen, the IPS panel is good and comfortable for the eyes, thanks to the TÜV Low Blue Light Certification. The WI-FI 6 network adapter in the laptop makes a difference and could see the speed increase with Wi-Fi 6 router.
It is a perfect laptop for gaming and business usage. The RTX3040 GPU, 12th Gen i7 processor, Legion software and AI support make this a great laptop.
