Good news for Amitabh Bachchan fans and who would love to hear and speak to the superstar’s baritone voice of the Indian Cinema. Amitabh Bachchan has partnered with Amazon to create a unique celebrity voice experience.
Customers in India will be able to access Mr Bachchan’s iconic voice on Alexa by purchasing the Amitabh Bachchan voice experience. This feature will only be available next year.

The Amazon Alexa team will work closely with Mr Bachchan to capture the iconic voice from the Shehenshah of Bollywood and deliver a unique voice experience to customers. It will include popular offerings like jokes, weather, shayaris, motivational quotes, advice and more.

Speaking on this feature, Mr Amitabh Bachchan says, “Technology has always given me an opportunity to adapt to new forms. Be it in movies, TV shows, podcasts and now, I am excited to create this voice experience in partnership with Amazon and Alexa. With voice technology, we are building something to engage more effectively with my audience and well-wishers.”
When launched next year, customers in India can easily invoke the Amitabh Bachchan voice experience by just asking Alexa and instantly getting their favourite superstar’s voice responding to popular requests.
Saying that cricket and Bollywood are integral to Alexa’s unique Indian personality, Puneesh Kumar, Country Leader for Alexa, Amazon India, adds, “Mr Bachchan’s voice is truly memorable for any Indian who has grown-up with Bollywood. This combination delivers a perfect pitch to further delight and simplify the lives of our customers. We are excited to see how our customers will respond when they use Alexa and hear his voice.”

The company, which rolled out the voice of Samuel Jackson on Alexa in the U.S. in 2019, said users in India can add the Bollywood legend’s voice to their Echo devices or Amazon shopping app for an introductory price of 149 Indian rupees ($2) for the first year. (Starting the second year, the annual price will move to $4.)
Globally, users can trigger Alexa with a one-word wake alert. Alexa, do this, for instance. But in the case of Bachchan, Amazon has introduced a two-word wake system to Alexa. “Amit ji.” (Where ‘ji’ is a Hindi word to pay respect.)
Alexa is also available on the Echo, Fire TV Stick with Alexa Voice Remote, Fire TV Edition, the free Alexa app as well as the Amazon shopping app (Android only). In addition, several third-party devices like mobile phones, Bluetooth speakers, headphones, wearables and smart TVs also come with Alexa built-in.
