The Tozo marketing team sent me the Tozo OpenBuds Earbuds for review. I have used the device daily for 1-2 hours, and sometimes for 4 hours, over more than a week.

The charging case offers around 30 hours of playback on a single charge.

The Review

The Tozo OpenBuds box is a white paper box with silver embossed text and logo. It displays a 4-color printed image of the Tozo OpenBuds with “ORIGX – Tozo’s Acoustic Technology”. The backside of the box features a 1-color print with device details and product features.

Sliding open the box reveals a sleeve with the quick guide and warranty card. Below the sleeve are the Tozo OpenBuds earbuds in their case and a compartment with a USB Type-C charging cable. These open-type earbuds do not require additional silicone ear tips.
The Tozo OpenBuds I received are black. The earbuds and charging case come 75% to 80% charged. I suggest charging the device fully before connecting it to your smartphone.
Tozo’s OpenBuds Charging Case

Made of ABS plastic, the case has a matte black smooth finish. Its cover features the “TOZO” logo embossed in black. The case includes an LED screen that displays the charging level of the earbuds and case. The LED lights change colour to indicate the charge level. A button between the earbuds in the case resets the device or pairs it for the first time. A white LED light on the outside of the cover indicates the charging case’s battery life. It also aids in opening and closing the case in the dark. The case’s USB Type-C port allows charging with the provided Type-C cable. The case takes around 1.5 hours to fully charge and offers multiple earbud charges for 30 hours of playtime.
Tozo’s OpenBuds Earbuds

The earbuds’ design is simple and slightly large but fits perfectly around the ear. They come in a matte finish with the “Tozo” logo embossed in black. Battery level and connectivity indicators are also present. The earbuds take around 1.5 hours to fully charge in the case, providing 12 hours of playtime on a single charge.
Best Feature
A unique feature of these earbuds is their Dual-axis design and multi-angle adjustment. Unlike earbuds with a single adjustment, these can be positioned in front of the ear canal for better sound quality. They fit well and cause no discomfort during long wear.
The open-type design prevents sweating and discomfort in the ear, allowing proper airflow. This makes the open-type earbuds best for strenuous indoor and outdoor workouts. They also keep you aware of your surroundings while walking, unlike in-ear earbuds.

The earbuds use Bluetooth 5.3, ensuring a stable range of 10m from the device. I wore the earbuds and walked up to 7m away from the smartphone without any music drop. They functioned well even in the washroom, with two walls between the source and the earbuds.
Voice/Call Quality

The Tozo OpenBuds excel in voice and call quality. I tested them on regular phone calls and online video calls. Both incoming and outgoing voice calls were crystal clear.
Connecting the Tozo OpenBuds
You can connect the Tozo OpenBuds via Bluetooth on your smartphone. For better use of the earbuds and their features, download the Tozo App from the App Store or Google Play Store. Follow the procedure to download the App and connect the Tozo OpenBuds to your smartphone. If you plan to connect the Tozo OpenBuds to another device, press and hold the button inside the charging case. This action readies the earbuds for pairing with another device, or you can use the Tozo app to connect.
Using the Tozo App

Once paired, the Tozo OpenBuds appear in the Tozo App. The home screen shows the earbuds’ and case’s battery levels. To optimize the best hearing and use of the Tozo OpenBuds, the app offers 5 preset Equalizer options: Standard, Bass+, Classical, Vocal, and Treble+. As these are open-type earbuds, they do not feature ANC or noise cancellation.

Audio Quality

I tested the Tozo OpenBuds for hours on different music genres. These included Country, Jazz, Rock, R&B, Soul, Metal, Lounge, Techno, House, Hindi Classical, and Hindi Bollywood. I also used them while watching multiple movies.
As an audiophile, I ensured thorough testing while working on my articles. The sound quality, ranging from subtle nooks and trebles to perfect bass rumbles, was excellent. The dual φ14.2mm dynamic drivers performed well, producing good low bass. The earbuds come with premium sound via ORIGX Pro, designed for audiophiles. They emphasize a wide sound stage with high-frequency clarity, offering a specific sound curve for various listening preferences

Conclusion

I recommend the Tozo OpenBuds Earbuds to everyone who loves music and wants comfortable earbuds with a great range of sound quality. I was impressed with the audio quality. The Trebles were crisp and clear, the Mids frequency level was great, and the bass was deep. Importantly, the bass was not overpowering, which could harm the eardrum. The Dual-axis design and multi-angle adjustment were the best parts, allowing me to position the earbuds correctly for better sound quality. The quality of the hinges is good and not flimsy.
The earbuds are suitable for workouts and outdoor activities, as they are IPX6-rated and have 5 presets
Note to Users: I kept the smartphone volume at half during use. I recommend all users do the same. Continuous high-volume listening may damage your eardrums and increase the chance of hearing loss.
Ideal Users for Tozo’s OpenBuds Open-Type Earbuds

The Tozo OpenBuds open-type earbuds are perfect for consumers who have issues with in-ear earbuds. The open-type design hangs around the ear, not irritate the ear canal. It also allows air to flow freely in and out of the ear, helping to balance the body during heavy, strenuous workouts and avoiding blackouts. The earbuds are suitable for business and working people, as voice calls are very important. With 12 hours of single charge and crystal-clear voice calls, the earbuds meet all needs.
I RECOMMEND them for exercise, indoor and outdoor workouts, adventure, office work, home use, and relaxation. With an IPX6 rating and 12 hours of playback on a single charge, they serve all purposes for all kinds of consumers.
