Introduction
TOZO is a young brand from China that has been innovative and provides the latest range to meet consumer needs while maintaining an affordable price range. In the past, I have reviewed many TOZO wearable products, including earbuds (both closed-type and open-type), headphones, and smartwatches. Their packaging, device quality, and budget-friendly pricing have always impressed me, especially compared to competitors.
Here I am to talk about the new stylish TOZO Crystal Pods earbuds for review.
Design & Specification
The TOZO Crystal Pods (Model – T11147) review unit arrived in the usual style: a white box with black-and-white images of the device and silver-embossed text on the sides and back. The product weighs 82.4 grams. The product has 50% recyclable material. After removing the transparent plastic cover, you open the box and remove the inside plastic sleeve case to access the content. The device is securely packed with a translucent cover, and the box contains a USB Type-A to USB Type-C charging cable, two additional pairs of silicon ear tips, a quick guide, a user manual and a card which has the details to download directly from the Amazon shopping app.
TOZO Crystal Pods – Charging Case
I received the unit in white with a transparent top cover and the TOZO logo in grey on the back side of the cover near the hinge. The details of the device, like the model number, certifications, battery, inputs, and outputs, are mentioned. There is a transparent sticker on the front of the cover that mentions charging the battery case fully before using it for the first time.
The full-body case is smooth, transparent ABS plastic with rounded edges. As mentioned earlier, the cover is transparent, and you can see the earbuds placed inside the case. The bottom side has a white diamond finish inside the transparent case, which makes the case look very rich and stylish. The bottom part of the case has a 350mAh battery, a USB Type-C charging port, and a small LED charging light.
With the provided USB Type-C cable, charging the case from zero to 100% takes around 1.5 hours. The case doesn’t support wireless charging.
TOZO Crystal Pods Hybrid ANC Wireless Earbuds
The earbuds are lightweight and ergonomically shaped to fit all ear types. They come with two additional ear tips to ensure a comfortable fit for different users. Each earbud is crafted from ABS plastic in a combination of matte white, transparent plastic, metal, and multi-colour LED lights. The earbud stick area has the “TOZO” logo embossed in shiny grey.
The earbud’s speaker unit area is a combination of transparent plastic, which allows you to see the inside of the speaker unit, and matte white with the ear tips. Each earbud is marked clearly with “L” and “R.” The thick stem part of the earbud has a round metal disc with the mic. There is a very thin plastic ring around the earbud, from which you can see the multi-coloured LED light, including a little of the inside part. The stem also has a white diamond design, which can also be present on the earbuds, giving an elegant touch.
The build quality feels solid, thanks to the plastic and metal components. The TOZO Crystal Pods earbuds feature a 10mm dynamic driver with a frequency range of 14Hz to 20kHz and support AAC and SBC audio codecs. Fully charging the earbuds takes around 1.5 hours, and you get 2.5 hours of playtime at a 10-minute charge. The earbuds are IPX5-rated and withstand dirt, sweat, and water droplets. Bluetooth 5.4. It has dual-Mic AL Call Noise Reduction. The earbuds support low latency mode. The earbuds come with TOZO OrigX 2.0 Acoustics Technology.
Touch Controls are on the stem on the right and left earbuds. Both earbuds allow you to control play, pause, stop, and manage calls. Use the right earbud to increase the volume and activate voice assistance, while the left earbud decreases volume and toggles between Active Noise Cancellation (on/off) and transparency mode. Additional features and an equalizer are accessible through the TOZO App on your smartphone.
Customisation – TOZO App
For first-time readers, download the TOZO App from the Google Play or iOS Store. After downloading, remove the earbuds from the charging case, go to your Bluetooth settings, search for TOZO Crystal Pods, and pair the earbuds. Then, open the TOZO App, where the Crystal Pods will be ready to connect. After pairing, check the settings for updates and follow the in-app instructions to see if updates are available. The App shows the earbuds’ battery level, Active Noise Cancellation, and other modes. The Equalizer section offers 32 presets, and you can customise and save your settings for use with all other TOZO audio products.
Microphone
I tested the TOZO Crystal Pods on Google Meet video calls. My brother verified that the voice quality sounded natural. The microphone effectively captures voices, enhancing clarity during conversations.
Sound Quality of TOZO Crystal Pods ANC Earbuds
The TOZO Crystal Pods feature a 10mm dynamic driver with built-in microphones. They offer active noise cancellation (ANC), transparency mode, and additional modes through the TOZO App.
Bluetooth 5.4 ensures a stable connection within 10 meters, though it extends up to 15 meters straight from the source. The sound quality is clear, with decent bass in standard mode. The TOZO app lets you adjust the bass and treble to suit your preferences, enhancing the listening experience. The sound quality feels natural, with well-balanced bass that doesn’t strain the ears, even in Bass+ mode. Mids and trebles also sound balanced, providing good value for the price.
Comfort
The TOZO Crystal Pods perform well and comfortably for extended listening sessions. It’s ergonomic, lightweight design feels comfortable on the ears, and the two additional pairs of silicone ear tips provide a snug fit in the ear canal. During intense workouts, larger ear tips may cause slight discomfort as the ear canals help balance body air pressure, while smaller tips may compromise ANC effectiveness or fit.
Price and Colour
The TOZO Crystal ANC Wireless Pods are priced at AED 147. The packaging is top-notch and reflects the standards of premium earbuds. Despite its affordable price point, it offers excellent sound quality, a solid build, and useful features. There are four colour options available: White, Black, Pink, and Blue.
