Brief about Oppo and smartphone releases
Oppo released their first smartphone “N1” in 2008 and later released their F series of smartphones. The first Find series of smartphones “Find 5” was released in 2013. In 2018, Oppo launched the Find X smartphone which stood out differently with a pop camera which allowed full-screen display. And now, the latest Oppo released the FindX 7 series of smartphones in January 2024 in mainland China.
The Oppo Find X7 Ultra muscles its way into the 2024 smartphone arena, vying for the top spot with a camera system that boasts exceptional firepower. It throws down the gauntlet with a monstrous 1-inch sensor, a versatile dual telephoto setup, and top-tier processing power. The display is a visual treat, boasting vibrant colours and smooth visuals.
The only sad part Oppo Find X7 Ultra may not be released in the UAE market. But consumers can buy it online from e-commerce websites that are importing them from China.

Testing the Cameras

The Find X7 Ultra’s true star is its camera system. The phone packs a massive 1-inch sensor in the main lens, capturing incredible detail and low-light performance. The dual telephoto lenses offer impressive zoom capabilities, reaching up to 10x hybrid zoom without sacrificing quality.
While testing the main camera, the response of the focusing and colour vibrancy was excellent. The Hasselblad Color Calibration worked beautifully. There are some modes which give the style of Hasselblad photography. With the help of AI, the colour representation is rich and vibrates
But honestly, I didn’t find a major difference in the Hasselblad Color Calibration as compared to non-branded colour calibration from competitor phones. These are preset which can be achieved with a little knowledge about lighting exposure and color settings.
Main Cameras were tested in daylight, and low light and even clicked against the sun. The camera was used to click buildings, food, animals, flowers and people.
I even had the opportunity to use the Find X7 Ultra smartphone to visit Al Ain Zoo Safari.
I had even taken some selfies with the 32MP camera and the result looked quite natural and excellent. Even during the night, the low shots looked excellent and the noise was quite less.
Stunning Display and Powerful Performance

The 6.82-inch LTPO AMOLED display delivers vibrant colours, sharp visuals, and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. The phone is powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, ensuring smooth performance for gaming, multitasking, and demanding applications.

Benchmark test

The Oppo Find X7 Ultra was tested on multiple benchmark apps. The PC Mark benchmark result is Work 3.0 – 14808. 3D Mark benchmark result: Best loop score – 8571, lowest loop score – 4672 and Stability – 54.5%. 3D Mark Wild Life Extreme – 5015.
Software Quirks and Limited Availability

A major drawback of the Find X7 Ultra is its software. ColorOS, the phone’s operating system, is currently only available in China and lacks optimization for the Middle East and Western markets. Users outside China might encounter minor software bugs and inconveniences.
Another significant hurdle is the phone’s limited availability. As of now, Oppo hasn’t confirmed a global launch for the Find X7 Ultra. This means potential buyers might have to resort to grey market imports, which can be risky and lack official warranty support.
Is the Oppo Find X7 Ultra right for you?

The Oppo Find X7 Ultra is an excellent camera phone with a top-notch display and powerful performance. However, its software limitations and restricted availability make it a niche offering. If you prioritize camera quality and are comfortable with potential software hiccups, the Find X7 Ultra could be a compelling choice. But for most users, readily available alternatives with global software support might be a better fit.
Price & Availability
As mentioned earlier, so far, we don’t see OPPO Middle East bringing the Find X7 Ultra to this market. But consumers can buy the phone from certain e-commerce websites that are importing them and selling them here.
Conclusion
The Oppo Find X7 Ultra is a phone with immense potential. Its camera system is truly best-in-class, and the overall package is impressive. However, software limitations and restricted availability prevent it from reaching its full potential. Buyers will have to import from China and make do with software that’s not designed for the Western market. If Oppo can address these issues, the Find X7 Ultra could be a game-changer in the smartphone market.

The Oppo Find X7 Ultra is a stunning phone that offers the complete package, beautiful design, and duotone with a leather back, exceptional cameras and tonnes of power. It’s a real shame that it’s unlikely to launch in the Middle East, as it could prove to be one of the best smartphones of the year.
