Body & Specifications

The review unit Huawei Watch Buds (B83) which I have received is black colour. The watch case is made of stainless steel with matt black in colour and comes with a dimension of 47 mm × 47.5 mm × 14.99 mm. It weighs only 66.5 grams without the strap. The strap comes in 22mm black leather with a wrist size of 140-210 mm. The watch comes with Li-Ion 410 mAh, non-removable battery. The case is dust and water-resistant but the watch is not waterproof or submerged in water. Due to the wear and tear of opening and closing the case for earbuds, it is quite possible to lose the capacity of water resistance.

The Huawei Watch Buds has two TWS earbuds placed inside the black case. Each bud weighs 4 grams and comes in black colour with a fine thin shiny steel finish. The earbuds already come with M-size (medium) silicon ear tips and you get additional two more pair of silicon ear tips S size (Small) and L size (Large). The earbud’s size is 21.8 mm × 10.3 mm × 10.3 mm. It comes with Li-Ion 30 mAh, non-removable battery. The earbuds are IP64 rated.

The HUAWEI Watch Buds came with a 1.43 inches AMOLED colour screen with 466 × 466 pixels with PPI 326 touchscreen glass display with slide and touch gestures. It comes with 6-axis inertial sensors (acceleration sensor and gyroscope sensor), an optical heart rate sensor 5.0, an ambient optical sensor, a Hall effect sensor, a capacitive sensor, and a bone conduction component (VACC).

On the watch body, the 710 Clous de Paris Pattern studs embellished on the button and crown present a unique metallic lustre, with its delicate texture adding an elegant and stylish touch. The body of the watch comes with one function button which helps to control and select the requested section along with touch control. The watch comes with the latest Harmony OS 3.0.0.111 and model no – SGA-B19
It has got a battery which can give around 3+ days of battery life on a single charge. For charging, HUAWEI Watch Buds have a cable with a USB Type-A pin on another side with a wireless Charging cradle that can be charged to any USB Type-A power adaptor or laptop socket.
The Review

While reviewing the HUAWEI Watch Buds, the watch has scratch resist 3D curved glass display which makes the watch look bezel-less. The watch comes with multiple watch faces with some analogue and digital face dial designs available on the app which gives a rich and stylish appeal for both genders.

The watch can be used as a sports trainer as it has Accelerometer, Gyroscope & Optical heart rate sensors. There are 97 presets available on the watch which can use during workouts or even casual walks.
How to connect HUAWEI Watch Buds with a smartphone?
For the review of the HUAWEI Watch Buds, I have used the Huawei P50 Pro smartphone which has the built-in Health App. (For others- consumers using Android and IOS smartphones need to download the Health App from Huawei App Store or Apple Store).
With Huawei smartphones, just Switch-On the watch and pair it with the smartphone via Bluetooth and you will be promoted with a pairing code. Once the watch is connected the Health App will check for the firmware and if there is an update, it will prompt you and update the firmware and you are ready to use it.
Please note: Phones running Android 7.0 or later, EMUI 12.0 or later, Phones running iOS 9.0 or later
The pairing process is a little longer as Health App is not available on the Google App store. With other Android smartphones, there is a little longer process and I have written an article about the whole process. To download the Health App which connects with the Huawei Watch Buds or any Huawei smart wearable device, so need to download the Huawei AppGallery application and followed by HMS Core App and then Huawei Health App.

I have followed the above process and downloaded the Huawei Apps
Through the Health App, you can track your progress and amount of the calories burnt and also the kilometres you have walked in the day. The App also suggests you, add your profile and data like weight, and age and you can set a goal to reach a certain target of weight as per your choice.
So while out on your walk or jogging, you don’t need to carry the smartphone, data is collected in the memory of the band and the HUAWEI Watch Buds automatically sync with your smartphone once it is in the proximity of the smartphone.
Huawei Watch Buds – Smartwatch

HUAWEI Watch Buds measure the 24/7 Heart rate monitor to provide a more efficient and accurate real-time personal measurement of your heart rate. Coupled with the intelligent AI heart rate algorithm, it monitors your heart rate throughout the entire day, even while you are sleeping.
So, you can track running (indoor and outdoor), walking, cycling (indoor and outdoor), climbing, hiking, trail running, triathlon, and aerobics. The smartwatch has around 80+ workouts.

The watch comes with one single button which controls most of the functions by pressing the crown. You can access all the apps which work on Harmony OS. The Huawei smartwatches work with Health App and can be downloaded from Huawei AppGallery.
Personal Assistant

Some of the function which can help during the meetings is the notification like messages, and SMS which also includes receiving and rejecting incoming calls without looking at my phone. I could also call back people via my watch from my contacts without accessing the phone.
Also, I could control my music via the watch during my walks and if you are working out indoors, then you can easily use the Bluetooth music function around 10 -15 meters in the line of sight.

The watch comes with continuous 24/7 measuring of your heart rate, and your oxygen level (SpO2) in your blood. You can set the alert level if your blood oxygen level drops.
The watch can also monitor your stress level which is done 24/7 automatically. This can help the user to understand which particular time and why their stress level increased and the user may use this data to change their lifestyle for better healthy living.

The HUAWEI Watch Buds has TruSleep 2.0 built-in and with this, it scientifically tracks and diagnoses 6 common types of sleep issues while providing suggestions for better rest. And, while you sleep, the watch monitors your heart rate, analyses your breathing and awards a score on your overall sleep quality.

There is an automatic notification which indicates or reminds you to drink water or get up and walk if you are sitting in one place for a long time. This is a great help as sometimes; you don’t realize that you have no water for a long time and also helps you to get up from your seat and makes you do some exercise or walk from your long seating position. The watch is Bluetooth, GPS and NFC supported.
Compared to earlier Huawei smartwatches and bands, Huawei Watch Buds doesn’t have a built-in speaker or mic. The smartwatch charges in 9V/2A on the wireless cradle provided with the smartwatch.
Huawei Watch Buds – Earbuds

Huawei Watch Buds is a (2-in-1) watch with built-in earbuds. Huawei Watch Buds earbuds can be accessed by pressing a button on the case at 6 clock which opens the smart watch cover and inside, you will find a pair of earbuds. The earbuds are attached to the inside cover of the dial with an attachable magnetic design. The earbuds also charge inside the compartment when not in use. The charging of the earbuds is possible from the battery of the smartwatch. The earbuds are compatible with either ear.

Earbuds have innovative wide-area auricle touch controls which allow you to tap the earbuds, auricles, or area in front of the ears twice to answer and reject calls or play and pause tracks, and tap three times to activate and disable noise cancellation. You can even create custom tap controls.
The earbuds have a full-range planar diaphragm unit that features four magnets and a planar coil, to generate rich sounds that are chock-full of texture. Three real-time listening optimizations account for the shape of your ear canal, the fit of the earbuds, and the volume level, to provide a pristine listening experience.

I have reviewed the earbuds with my various genre of music which is from classical, rock and instrumental. The sound quality was a crisp, clear and perfect amount of bass. The Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) worked really great.
As for the calls, the sound quality of capturing the voice and hearing is excellent (verified with the caller). Due to the earbuds being very small, it doesn’t stand out in the ear and feels very comfortable. It works with Bluetooth 5.2, A2DP, and LE.

Thanks to the storage on the watch, you can download a limited no of music via the watch via Health App. So this way, during the workout or exercise, you don’t need your smartphone to be around you. You can get 4 hours of music with ANC OFF or 3 hours of music with ANC ON.
Please note: While intense workout or exercise, you need to remove the earbuds for a short duration as any In-Ear buds (headphones) block the airflow into the ear. The air flowing into the ear helps to maintain your balance.
Conclusion

The HUAWEI Watch Buds is a beautiful, round digital smart fitness and health monitoring watch that has various watch dial faces which include analogue looks as per your fashion and styling matching your outfit.
“The overall design of the Huawei Watch Buds looks very rich and stylish. With the addition of built-in earbuds makes the watch very unique and different from all the smartwatches available in the market.” The smartwatch gets an “Editor Choice Award”
My best experience was using it during my evening walk with the earbuds without carrying the smartphone. Also, it helped me while driving my car as I could have privacy while using the ANC earbuds.

It has 80+ presets functions for fitness features such as running (indoor and outdoor), walking, cycling (indoor and outdoor), climbing, hiking, trail running, triathlon, and aerobics. With Heart Rate, SpO2, Stress and Sleep monitoring, it is a perfect wearable device with multiple features.

The package comes with HUAWEI Watch Buds with a leather strap, wireless charging cradle, in-built earbud with additional two pairs of silicone ear tips, User Guide & Safety Information & Warranty Card.
