The HUAWEI FreeClip 2, which we received, is blue in colour. There are extra 3 colours available in the market. These include white, rose, and black. The device already has some charge, so you can connect it as soon as you remove it from the box. Personally, I would suggest charging the device fully (wired or wireless) before connecting it to your smartphone. The device can be connected instantly. Bring the earbuds near a smartphone with NFC enabled. A pop-up will on the screen. You will find the prompt to pair the earbuds with your smartphone. Simply scan the QR code on the back of the HUAWEI FreeClip 2 box.

The FreeClip 2 case is made of ABS plastic, and it is lighter than the earlier version. The outer side of the case has micrometer-level moulding. This design brings a stain-resistant, denim-textured surface. It helps prevent slipping from the hand. The square case has a rounded edge design. The earbuds are magnetically held in a cross configuration. This reduces the case’s footprint.

The FreeClip 2 earbuds are light and weigh 5.1 grams, and hang around your earlobe and hang on the Antitragus part of your ear. The C-bridge, which connects the Acoustic Ball and the comfort bean, is sturdy and flexible.

Using with the Huawei Audio Connect App

As I am using Honor Magic7 Pro smartphone, for me. I had to download the Huawei Audio Connect App. After downloading the application, the procedure was very simple.
You just open the earbuds to pair. Then, connect with the NFC on the smartphone. The HUAWEI FreeClip 2 earbuds in the Huawei Audio Connect App are once paired as well. You should update the device’s firmware. Under the sound effect – Headset choice, you see “Recommended for you – HUAWEI FreeClip 2.” There are various options to suit your sound preferences.

You can use the Huawei Music App on the phone. This app offers a variety of sound settings. It also includes dedicated presets for Huawei and Honor products. These features enhance sound quality and the music experience.

Audio Quality

The HUAWEI FreeClip 2 was tested for hours across various music genres. These included Country, Jazz, Rock, R&B, Soul, Metal, Lounge, techno, House, Hindi Classical, and Hindi Bollywood. The test was done with Hi-res 24 bit 96kHz and 320kps MP3 music, as well as multiple movies.
As I am quite picky about music and devices, I am also an audiophile listener. I tested for hours while working on my articles. I am doing the same right now by using the device while writing this review too.

From small nooks to trebles to the perfect rumbling sound of the bass, each element sounded perfect. I feel the different ranges of audio equipment used in the song. These ranged from guitar to snares, string pulls, vocal breathing, and the distant chirping of birds in the lounge music.
For call testing, I used Google Hangouts, and the voice was clear, and both listening and speaking were clear. Calls were clearer while using it in noise environment.
Price and Availability

The HUAWEI FreeClip 2 Earbuds launched at AED649 and are available in four colours: Blue, Rose, Black, and White. It is available on the Huawei website, Huawei Stores, e-commerce site, and major retail outlets.
Conclusion

The HUAWEI FreeClip 2 is recommended for everyone who loves music. It is perfect for anyone who wants a comfortable pair of headphones with a wide range of sound quality. With 9 hours of play time on a single charge and 38 hours with a fully charged charging case. While using Google Hangouts, the sound was clear. Nevertheless, the person hearing my voice heard it with a little less treble. The HUAWEI FreeClip 2 is IP57 rated. It is splash-resistant during normal use. This means the earbuds will not be damaged by sweat or a splash of water. It supports Hi-Res and 24-bit audio, with dedicated settings in the Huawei Music App for the earbuds.

Overall, the Huawei FreeClip 2 is an open-type earbud, IP57 rated earbuds. It is recommended for music listeners, outdoor and indoor exercise, and even heavy workouts.
(Please note: My personal opinion, it is best to use the open-type earbuds or headphones for exercise, especially for heavy workouts. When you use any in-ear that totally blocks the ear, the air flow between your ears is affected. In such a scenario, you have a blackout.)
