The Review
Body Details

The device which I have received for review is Mighty Black and the back panel is made of plastic with a crystal matt finish but it is smooth to the touch and the best part is it doesn’t leave any finger smudges on the panel.
With the ~85.5 % screen-to-body ratio, the bezel of the phone is flat. The rounded edges back panel and display make the phone thin for the price range. The only thing you will notice is in the top area where it houses the single-lens camera in punch hole type embedded in the screen.
Very Strong Display screen

The realme C53 phone comes with a very strong protective screen. As for the test I have done a Drop test from a height of 4ft
I have also done the Hammer test where I used the regular heavy hammer hitting on the display and actually nothing happened nor it left any kind of scratch or dent on the display.
Realme has mentioned that the realme C53 went through 320 comprehensive tests, including 109 tests for reliability and six for quality assurance. Some of the tests included extreme and high-temperature tests, flame retardant tests, and sharp-edge tests to ensure the safety of the device.
Temperature shocks of 40-75 degrees C were applied to realme C53, as well as tests to ensure that the device can withstand high humidity, and UV radiation and has salt spray resistance. The waterproof realme C53 also comes after several drop and pressure protection tests. Durability tests were also applied on the device’s power, volume, charging, and plugging in a range of 150,000 to 300,000 times.
Realme C53 is an entry-level smartphone created for the audience who is looking for a good camera and work-horse phone.

In video mode too, the camera supports multiple face recognition and via face lock, the camera lens remains focused on the subject which is great for entry-level vloggers.
Some of the additional features of the front selfie camera under photo mode, in the AI setting, Auto Smile Capture and the palm gesture, so when you hold your open palm in front of the front camera, it gives you a 3-sec count and clicks a selfie. You can record videos at 1080p@30fps. And you can shoot 1080x 1920 px video at 30fps. You can shoot photos under portrait mode with Bokeh which can provide a f0.95 to f16 aperture by which you get a very focused selfie and the background blurred. During Selfie with Flash, where it uses the screen is full brightness white light as a flash or advanced AI light adjustment. You can also shoot selfies mode. You can switch on retouch mode to change your appearance and choose 12 filters (preset LUTS) for creating a necessary style of image. You do the same under video mode – retouch and Filters.

The back panel of the realme C53 houses dual cameras. The camera modules are designed on a mirror finish square rounded panel which is a little jutting out of the body. The square rounded panel is placed on the top left side of the smartphone. The 50MP camera is placed on the top of the square panel and below is the 0.3 MP camera, LED light is placed on the ring design like the cameras on the square panel. The sound capture is pretty good the camera automatically focuses on the subject and creates a Bokeh effect and also allows to fix focus (AE/AF lock) when clicking on the subject via holding the finger for a few seconds on the screen.
(Please note: AE/AF Lock to be used sensibly as it may cause out of focus of the video if moved from the subject with the locked to another far away subject)
Operating System and Software

The operating system of realme C53 has the latest Android 13 as the operating system with the Realme realme UI T Edition. So, with Android 13.0, the realme C53 has all the latest features like AI beautification, creamy Bokeh for portraits, and AI recognition of up to 500 scenes. It uses Unisoc Tiger T612 (12 nm) + (GPU) Mali-G57 with 6GB RAM + 6GB (Dynamic RAM) and 128 GB ROM internal storage for the UAE market. Android 13 also helps in better more accurate facial brightness, contrast for selfies on the front cameras and scene-by-scene optimizations for shots taken on the rear and enhancing the photography effects. There was no major lag between screens or scrolling the apps, it was quite smooth and fast.
Sound & Audio

Realme C53 has a single-side speaker grill you can hear sound coming from the bottom side when you are holding the smartphone vertically and horizontally.
The trebles were high, the mid-level was clear and the bass was decent for the value of the smartphone. The volume is quite clear and loud. The device comes with a mic.

Realme C53 was tested with various types of videos played and different genres of music and it passed above average compared to other competitors in a similar price range.
(Please note: The smartphone was held at a distance of 1- 2 feet while testing the audio quality)
Realme C53 for Gaming

The performance while playing Asphalt 9 was really good. With 6GB RAM + 6GB (Dynamic RAM) and 90Hz refresh rate screen and good audio, my experience while playing was satisfying. The smartphone speakers are good and loud.
Honestly, I was not sure the graphic would run smoothly but it worked, of course, I can’t expect and compare the quality I would get with high-end Flagship mobile
Connectivity & Battery
The smartphone has a fingerprint sensor, face detection, pattern and pin for accessing the smartphone. The Smartphone supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band and Bluetooth which supports 5.0, A2DP, and LE. The smartphone comes with a non-removable Li-Po 5000 mAh battery which can last more than 2+ days with average usage. The smartphone comes with USB Type- C charging input which can charge the phone at 33W charging and I could get 50% charge in 35mins.
realme C53 – Benchmark

The realme C53 phone was tested on various benchmark apps. On Geekbench it scored 418 – Single-Core Score and 1504 – Multi-Core Score. On the PC Mark, it scored 7906 on performance Work 3.0. On 3D Mark, it scored 423 on the overall score.
(Please note: For Entry-level phone, the score is quite good)
Conclusion

Realme C53 is a good smartphone for the price, the phone is an entry level-range with all the great features for gaming, and watching online entertainment. The built quality is strong and sturdy and the colour makes the phone very rich and stylish. The display screen and body are very strong and reliable. 50MP dual cameras with AI support make this smartphone one of the best in the competition. As for the selfies, the single 8MP lens can make a difference with the Ai function which can give a very nice creamy Bokeh effect and focus on your face with auto tracking when clicked on the screen for focus. It has a quick and sharp focus system.
128GB ROM is less than the current requirement, But the Dual Card SIM Tray comes with a MicroSD slot which is expandable up to 2TB storage.

It is a good smartphone for the price and can run for the money to its competitors.
The daylight shot was sharp and good and 8MP selfies were natural and the colour output was great. The zoom has 10x but would suggest that at its maximum started to distort. Under low light or night photography, the output was decent with the colour saturated with the AI.
Overall, for the price and in the entry level-range phone, it is a good buy for the consumer.
