Huawei-FreeLace-Pro
Huawei brand which known more as a smartphone brand has launched a lot of other products like laptops, Tablets, Wireless speakers, Body fat Scale, Digital Watches, fitness tracker and audio earbuds and headphones.
Huawei FreeLace Pro was introduced to the UAE market on 18th February 2021. Huawei FreeLace Pro is the successor of the Huawei FreeLace which was released in 2019.

Huawei FreeLace Pro is much better upgraded with features and the quality of sound has gone one step further than its predecessor.
I have received the Huawei FreeLace Pro and have used it for more than a month and this is my review and testing results.

The Review
Body & Styling
Huawei FreeLace Pro is neckband style headphones/ earbuds which has a non-removable battery embedded into the neckband. The device has a dimension of 862.4 mm total length with the cable length 814 mm and weighing 34grams. The device is made of a combination of silicon rubber and metal & plastic which is the earbuds, control and battery pack.

The neckband is matte finish and feels soft on the hand and around the neck and the control module and the battery is coming in the shiny piano finish which stands out in the neckband product. There 4 options of colour available: – Graphite Black, Spruce Green, Dawn White and Sakura Pink. The review unit which I have received is Spruce Green.
Connectivity & Battery

The Huawei FreeLace Pro use Bluetooth 5.0 for connection. When you pull open the headband control it has the USB Type C pin which charges the 150 mAh battery and it can last you for continuous 24hours playtime.

It takes around 60mins to charge the device and you also do a fast charge by inserting the USB Type C pin into a Huawei phone by using Hi-pair by which not only charge your device but also help you in instant pairing with your phone.

The Huawei FreeLace pro has a touch control feature by which you can choose the ANC (Active noise cancellation) modes. The left earbud, when touch and hold for few seconds, you can hear and choose the 3 options – ANC On, Ambient sound On and ANC Off.
Using with Huawei Music App
You can use the Huawei Music App on the phone which not only helps with a variety of sound settings and also has dedicated presets for Huawei and Honor product to enhanced sound quality and music experience.
There preset modes setting like Dolby Atmos, HiFi, Electric, Vintage vinyl, live house, Nostalgic, mega bass, Choral, Driving, 3D surround, Melodies, Headphone, 3D Rotation, Folk, Concert Hall, ACG, Studio, Ethereal, Coffee, KTV Vibes and Kirin (optimized by Kirin chipset) and of course you have standard modes like pop, classical, rock, jazz, dance and more.
Audio
Earbuds speaker unit

The Huawei FreeLace Pro comes with 14.2mm dynamic drivers with Dual-mic Active Noise Cancellation and for calls Triple-mic Noise Cancellation. The earbuds come with a magnetic sensor, just bring the left and right earbuds together and it will switch off the music and saves battery when you are not using the headphones.

The earbuds come with a total of 3 different sizes of ear tips to fit as per the user’s ear size. The earbuds get snuggled and gripped by the small ear silicon loop to the Antihelical fold part of the ear and most of the weight is managed around the neck. So this way you don’t feel too much irritation on the ear.
Comfort for Exercise and sports
“I would recommend Huawei FreeLace Pro for exercise and sport activity.”

The most important mistake done by people when they use earbuds while doing a strenuous workout is that they block the eardrums by inserting the earbuds tightly in the ear. This way you are blocking the airflow which is required to keep your balance and also the high level of sound.
Read more about Dizziness and Balance
When you place the Huawei FreeLace Pro earbuds on your ear, it doesn’t go deep inside compared to other earbuds which are good, as this way it doesn’t hamper balance and avoid dizziness. Also, the device is IP55 certified which is splash, sweat, water and dust resistant.
Audio Quality
The Huawei FreeLace Pro was tested for hours on different genres of music from Country, Jazz, Rock, R&B, Soul, Metal, Lounge, techno, House, Hindi Classical and Hindi Bollywood. The test was done with the Hi-res quality 24bit 96kHz and 320kps Mp3 music and also watched multiple movies.

As I am quite picky about music and devices as I am also an audiophile listener. I made sure, the device was tested for hours and as I am doing right now using the device while writing this review too.

From small nooks, trebles to the perfect rumbling sound of the bass, it sounded perfect and I could feel the different ranges of audio equipment used in the song that is from guitar to snares, string pulls, vocal breathing and distance chirping of birds in the lounge music. Even while watching movies, I could hear the long-distance boom and distance crackling of fire sound. Especially, when I put the earbuds to ANC mode, I was isolated from my surrounding at home and felt part of the movie scene and I remember one scene, there were fluttering wings in the distance and I thought, thinking pigeons have entered my house.

For vocal and hearing on calls, I used Google Hangout and the vocal was clear but the sound quality was a little suppressed especially the treble but both ways listening and speaking was clear. It may be more effective while using it in a noisy environment.
Price and Availability

The Huawei FreeLace Pro Earbuds launch price was AED399 and come in four colours available: – Graphite Black, Spruce Green, Dawn White and Sakura Pink. It is available on the Huawei website and Huawei Stores and e-commerce site and major retail outlets.
Conclusion

The Huawei FreeLace Pro is recommended for everyone who loves music and would like to own comfortable pair of headphone with a great range of sound quality. With 24hours playtime on a single charge and it can be achieved in less than 60mins of charging. For fast charging, you can use your Huawei phone as it has USB Type C and connect with Hi-pair. On voice calls, little issue with sound quality as little treble gets cut both ways but the voice is clear. Perfect for a strenuous workout without hampering the airflow to your ears and you can stop the Bluetooth connection and stop the music by just bring earbuds with a magnetic sensor together. Stylish, light and comfortable around the neck with silicone rubber material.

“For the price and quality, styling, we recommended Huawei FreeLace Pro for all music listeners and music enthusiastic ”
