When comes to laptops and notebooks, HP, as a brand is known across the globe. HP is very well known in the UAE market in B2B and B2C sectors and established its office in Dubai – UAE in 1994.
Since then, the brand has been bringing its latest product to the market. HP Elite Dragonfly G2 Notebook PC is such a product which is a sleek, thin, stylish, and light business laptop.
The HP Elite Dragonfly G2 is a 2-in-1 device, which means it can be used either as a laptop or in tablet mode and its high-resolution (up to 4K) touchscreen looks gorgeous and works brilliantly, offering the kind of versatility.
Review

The review unit which I have received comes with Intel Core i7-1185G7 with Intel Iris Xe Graphics (3.0 GHz base frequency, up to 4.8 GHz with Intel Turbo Boost Technology, 12 MB L3 cache, 4 cores), supports Intel vPro Technology. The Notebook comes with 16GB RAM, M.2 SSD 512GB storage. It came with Windows 10 pro which later could be upgraded to Windows 11 as per consumer choice.
Display & Device details
The Notebook comes with the dimensions1.98 x 7.78 x 0.63 in. The body is sturdy and made with a magnesium casing. It has a widescreen display with 13.3 inches touchscreen which has FHD ( 1920 x 1080) resolution with a 60Hz refresh rate of 400nits. It comes with 8bit depth RGB color and standard dynamic range (SDR). The device weighs less than 1kg.
The display comes with glossy gorilla glass 5 for protection. The screen is quite reflective and you can see your reflection on the screen.
The Notebook comes with a 65Watt USB Type C charger and comes with the HP Fast charge Technology which charges the notebook 50% in 30mins. The battery lasts at least for 8hours of continuous usage. The notebook has HP Dura Keys which are spill-resistant and backlit. It also comes with a glass clickpad with Microsoft Precision Touchpad.
It has got a 720p HD IR camera which is embedded in the center just above the screen display and it comes with an HP Sure shutter which can be activated with the dedicated button on the keyboard. The notebook comes with an Ambient Light Sensor, Hall Sensor, Magnetometer, Gyroscope, and Accelerometer. I wish HP would have an added higher resolution camera for such a premium model.
The notebook comes with a 360-degree hinge that can be converted into a tabletop mode, tablet mode, and can be used vertically as per the convenience of the user.
The notebook comes with dedicated functions keys that help the user to activate a certain function of a key on the keyboard. Like press of F2 key – put the display in privacy mode, so people from the side can’t see the user’s screen. F12 key – opens up the HP Command Center (HP Programmable key). There is also a dedicated HP Sure Shutter key that blocks the web camera from spying by hackers.
As for the software and security for business, the notebook comes with HP DriveLock/ HP Automatic DriveLock, BIOS update via Network, HP Lan-wireless protection, Hp Secure Erase. The notebook comes with HP Client Security Manager Gen7, HP Fingerprint Sensor, and lots more.
It comes with a Stylus pen which can be used for drawing, marking, editing photos, and also scrolling.
Networking, Communication, Connectivity & Ports
As for the connectivity and ports, the notebook comes with two USB 3.2 Type-C ports, one USB 3,2 Gen 1 Type-A port (charging), one Headphone/microphone combo jack, one HDMI port, and an AC power port.
The notebook comes with Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX201 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax (2×2) and Bluetooth 5 combo, vPro.
Audio

The notebook comes with Bang & Olufsen speaker and internal microphones. On audio testing with watching and listening on YouTube. The stereo sound test passed with flying colors in laptop, tabletop, and tablet mode. When the notebook is held vertically, the stereo audio channels didn’t change to mono channels. The left and right channels worked as a top speaker and bottom speaker.

As for the sound quality, the treble and mids sounds were crisp, clear, and loud fa or sleek notebook. But for the bass level was less and could not handle the low-frequency sound. But still, the overall experience of sound was excellent for the design and form factor.
Conclusion

Overall, the HP Elite Dragonfly G2 Notebook PC is a light, sturdy, sleek device. With 16GB RAM and an Intel Core i7 processor, it could handle day-to-day business work. It could also handle light video and photo editing software. Battery draining was a little higher while using video conferencing.
But when the notebook’s lid is closed and it goes into sleep mode and even after 24hours, when switching on the notebook, there was no loss of battery. It comes with a stylus pen which is useful for drawing, marking, and scrolling too. The notebook is premium priced and may appeal to a certain segment of consumers. The retail price mentioned on the e-commerce site is AED 6,899.95.
