EZVIZ-Air-Purifier-Review
EZVIZ launched the UV-C Air Purifier (CS-EB350A) around the end of last year along with the series of indoor security cameras for the UAE Market. I have received the unit for review and used it for at least 3 weeks continuously and below is the review

Body & Specifications – Model – CS-EB350A
EZVIZ UV-C Air Purifier comes with the dimension 374(W) × 215(D) × 594(H) mm with a white glossy piano finish, panels made out of plastic composite materials with magnetic pins to hold the front panel on the body. The internal body structure is made of composite plastic and metal and weighs 6.88 kg. It has got certification by CE / RoHS / REACH / WEEE. It can cover around 42 m² areas and absorb pollutants with 3 layers of filter and additional UV Light.
It uses 220~240V/50HZ for power and maximum power consumption of 80W. It comes with a dust sensor with 3 levels of fan speed and auto mode.
Filtration System in EZVIZ UV-C Air Purifier
EZVIZ UV-C Air Purifier has 4 steps of filtration of air.

- Step 1: Large dust removal – Traps large particles such as human hair, pet dander, and dust particles while extending the life of the HEPA and the Activated Carbon Filters.
- Step 2: HEPA Filter – Traps up to 95% of allergens and airborne contaminants down to 0.3 microns in size. These allergens include lung-damaging dust, mold spores, plant spores, pet dander, and pollen.

- Step 3: Activated Carbon Filter – Neutralizes odors and Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) such as formaldehyde and benzene, as well as other harmful fumes emitted by household products.

- Step 4: UV-C Light – Radiates the air with UV-C light before sending it to the room for healthier breathing.
The EZVIZ UV-C Air Purifier comes with a control panel on the top of the unit by which you can adjust air purifier speed, mode of cleaning, auto mode, and including switch On & Off.
The EZVIZ UV-C Air Purifier has a Light( LED) panel in front which indicates the changes reflecting pollution degree.
Smart Sensors
The EZVIZ UV-C Air Purifier has a sponge filter with H11 HEPA Filter and Coconut Shell Active Carbon Filter which captures PM 1.0, microparticles, and harmful gases.
When the unit is kept on auto mode, the sensor can detect any level of smoke and dust particle in your room and instantly go to work to remove with increasing the speed of the fan and increase the intake
The Review
My First Reaction
To be honest, my first reaction before the product reaches my home, I was wondering why would I require an air purifier in the house which has an air conditioner 24/7 in Dubai. But of course, I wanted to review the product, and to satisfy my curiosity, I installed it in my studio.
I removed the product from the carton and it was tall rectangular, rounded edges, white piano finish air purifier, ready to use from the box. It comes with a 6ft of wire to connect with the power socket which has the Type G – 3 pinhead.
Working of the EZVIZ UV-C Air Purifier (CS-EB350A)
Before I switching on the EZVIZ UV-C Air Purifier, I checked the construction of the device and how does the product work. The front panel is attached with a magnetic and groove locking system. When you open the front panel, you can see the HEPA filter with the sponge type of material sandwiched together in a panel. This panel stops and captures the dust and larger pollutant from entering the unit. The air is being sucked in from the sides of the front panel.

Behind the HEPA Filter panel is the Activated Carbon Filter which catches and removes the smoke and odor from the room.

When you remove the carbon filter, you can see the large single fan which does the major of creating the suction and pushing the fresh, clean air from the top part of the device.

The clean air is pushed from the top which just behind the top control panel of the device.
There is UV Light inside the device which is supposed to clean and remove the bacteria from the air. And could be seen from the top side as a switch on the UV light from the control panel.
The company says the UV-C light “UV-C range light has been proven effective in killing various viruses and bacteria. By breaking the molecular bonds in the DNA/RNA of viruses, UV-C light makes viruses and bacteria unable to reproduce. The EZVIZ air purifier uses UV-C light to radiate purified air before sending it out to your room.”

As per my understanding, the UV-C light in the device is debatable as mentioned on the FDA.gov website, and the longer dose or duration of the UV-C light is important to destroy or make the viruses inactive. UV-C light is also known as “Germicidal light”, it has been used in Air condition ducts to destroy the virus. But again it has shown, it may be not effective with flowing air. But it is good to have some kind of protection than not having at all.
Control Panel

The control panel is simple to operate, as soon you switch on the device, there is a long beep indicating it is ready to use. The power button has a blue light which indicates the readiness to use the product. It is time where you can use from 1hr, 2hrs, 4hrs to 8hrs. Followed by the button for UV-C Light, the center is the power button, there is a filter reset button, followed by Speed Mode which has various options – 3 levels of speed and sleep, turbo, and auto mode. The air purifier also has a child lock facility by which can be activated by pressing the Reset and Speed Mode buttons together.

Then I connected the EZVIZ UV-C Air Purifier (CS-EB350A) with the electrical plug point and the air purifier switched on. The front side has a circular LED display which should the PM2.5 dust level and alternates with the display of the temperature of the surrounding and humidity level in the house.
The EZVIZ UV-C Air Purifier (CS-EB350A) on initial start calculated the surrounding and then digital panel showed the amount of dust and type of dust and pollutants in the room. then in a short time as the Air Purifier started to clean the air, the numbers on the LED screen started to drop and showing a cleaner level of air quality compared to the start.
Some extra testing of EZVIZ UV-C Air Purifier (CS-EB350A)

All this time I was really wondering, was this all gimmick to prove the product cleaning the air in the room. So to test the product to prove its mark and quality, I did multiple tests with the EZVIZ UV-C Air Purifier (CS-EB350A) and kept it switched on.
A) Checking the Sensor
I kept the Air Purifier on auto mode which determines the air pollution level in the room and increases or decreases the fan speed automatically.
As you are aware, when you switch on the Air conditioner after a long period of time, there is always an amount of dust and pollutants that come out of the air vents. On multiple occasions, I switched off and then switched on the home air conditioner and each time there was a rise in the level of the air pollutants and the air purifier did extra work to bring done the air pollutant level.
B) Checking with Smoke

So to test the product sensor, I did a simple test of vaping in the room and burning incense sticks on multiple occasions in the room. Each time the Sensor reacted and changed the fan speed high and slowly decreased the fan speed as smoke and smell disappeared from the room.
Conclusion

After using it for almost 20 days, I checked the air filter and I could find fine dust particles on the air filter (can’t say about the micro-pollutants and in the inside layers of the Air Filter). It is a perfect product for people who have dust allergies and for asthma patients. Especially when you have a baby in the house and you are worried about the germs and dust around your kid. Has I have mentioned above I am sure about the UV-C light effectiveness in killing the bacteria but good to have this feature in the air purifier.
I wish the EZVIZ had included a Wi-Fi connection to work as IoT Device as the brand already has an EZVIZ app for the cameras and other products. So, if I want I could switch On the device before I enter my house.
The product is quite well priced compared to the competition but I hope with the technology advancement the product can become more and more affordable for everyone. But again sometimes price doesn’t matter when it comes to health for a lot of people.
So as for me, the product worked very well and I would like to say to people who can afford to buy this product, is a worthy product.
