
HMD Global Nokia G20 Smartphone- Profile
HMD Global launched new six smartphones – #NokiaX20, #NokiaX10, #NokiaG20, #NokiaG10, #NokiaC20 and #NokiaC10 with the slogan “Love it, trust it, keep it”. They also launched the Nokia Lite Earbuds. The PR team of HMD Global has sent the Nokia G20 smartphone for hands-on.

The Nokia G20 smartphone which we received was a Night colour back panel and it comes with the dimension of 164.9 x 76 x 9.2 mm and weighing 197 grams. It has IPS Panel 6.5” display with a single camera lens in a teardrop shape.

The single camera is embedded into the display and has the sleek thin earpiece placed above the camera. The selfie camera has an 8MP wide-angle camera and The display has a 20:9 aspect ratio covered with 2.5D glass for protection and it comes with a resolution of 1600 x 720.

The body of the Nokia G20 smartphone is made of ABS/PET plastic which is as per the environment standard and whole the smartphone can be recycled up to 82%.

The panel comes with a design that helps for better grip and avoids fingerprint smudges. It has the Nokia logo in the centre embossed in silver. The body edges are rounded which absorbs up to a certain amount of pressure from accidental fall.

The main/rear camera comes with a quad-camera lens which consists of 48 MP f/1.8 (wide), PDAF, 5 MP (ultra wide), 2 MP (macro) and 2 MP (depth). The quad cameras are placed in the top centre in a round shape black shiny base with little jutting out of the panel. The LED flash/light is placed below the round shape panel centrally alighting to the panel.

With the 48MP Quad camera, you can click images with Bokeh effect and take low light photography and the 8MP selfie wide-angle camera has the portrait with Bokeh effect too. It supports panorama, HDR and clicks the video in FHD quality. As for the main/rear camera, you can shoot 1x and wide (0.6x) FHD and HD quality videos. As for the photography, the main camera can capture in 1x, wide (0.6x) and macro mode.

The volume rockers and power button are on the right-hand side of the panel. The power button also doubles as the fingerprint sensor. The position of the power/fingerprint sensor is quite in a comfortable position.

The SIM Tray and dedicated google assistant button are placed on the left-hand side of the phone. Here again, the position of the google assistant button is well placed and can be activated with a single click.

The SIM Tray has a dual SIM tray with additional space for microSD. It can use 512GB microSD for storage.
Talking about storage the Nokia G20 smartphone comes with 128GB built-in storage and comes with 4GB RAM.

The Nokia G2O works on Android 11 for OS and runs on Android One for UI. HMD Global has assured 2 additional updates of Android OS for the future, so consumers are assured at least 2 more years of updates. It has CPU MTK Helio G35 Octa-core, 8x A53 2.3GHz with HyperEngine Technology.
Regarding connectivity, the smartphone comes with Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC and a USB Type C port for charging and transfer of data. The phone also works for FM radio with headphones.

The bottom side of the phone has the USB Type C port with a speaker grill and mic.
The top side has the 3.5mm headphone jack output and mic.

The Nokia G20 comes with a 5050mAh battery with 10W charging which Nokia says can work for almost 3 days on average usage.

Overall the HMD Global’s Nokia G20 smartphone looks like a strong, sturdy smartphone with a 48MP Quad camera and latest Android AI features that can do the day to day job with ease. With the price at AED599, looks like a good buy for a lower mid-range smartphone.
