Ajman University Students create AI-powered Healthcare Smartphone App Solution which Identifies Micronutrient Deficiencies in Human Body
The winning smartphone application, Vita-Cam, allows users to identify micronutrient deficiencies that can lead to health complications, without the need for blood samples
Two billion people are at risk of developing poor health conditions, from fatigue to impaired immune functions, due to micronutrient deficiencies (MNDs).
Diagnosing MNDs requires medical tools which are not readily accessible worldwide, an issue that particularly impacts children and pregnant women in low-income countries.
Early detection is important. Even in developed nations, people can adapt to the symptoms of MNDs, causing the condition to remain undiagnosed and leading to irreversible health complications.
